Just passed $200 MRR!

I wanted to share small win with the community! 🥳

I've been on a building-in-public journey for nearly a year now, posting weekly, in-depth videos on YouTube. A lot of that time was spent validating ideas and trying to find customers, but eventually I honed in on a product that people would pay for.

I hit my first dollar of revenue in December and this week I just crossed $200 in MRR! 17% of my customers are yearlies which is a really encouraging sign. There's still a really long way to go, but I feel like I'm finally on a path. 😅

A philosophy that has worked well for me:

When you figure out a product that people really want, they'll show you. If you're struggling to get signups or revenue and you're getting a decent amount of eyeballs, then something might be wrong. I used this (kind of harsh) insight to move-on from on several ideas until I found something that resonated.

Nice, congrats! What was your main source of growth?

Thanks! I was having a lot of problems finding customers, so I decided to test marketplaces. I implemented my app on Shopify and Wix to see if those marketplaces would bring me an audience. Shopify has done very little, but Wix has worked very well, at least for my type of app.

        That's a smart approach.

Have you tried Reddit at all? I recently had some good success there. There must be a lot of people hiring or struggling to hire the right people, your app might be very useful for them.

Surfkey.io by @JohanCutych has been very useful for me for finding relevant convos on Reddit.
