Just received an invite to Mozilla Builders Open Lab, anyone interested in joining me?

I just received an invite to Mozilla Builders Open Lab for my project described here: https://bsldld.neocities.org

Let me know if you are interested in joining me. I have a technical background, I am a software engineer by profession. Participants with any skill-sets are welcome. It will be a bonus if you had worked with government agencies and or education institutions in the past or are currently working for one. My email id is bsldld[at]socialworker[dot]net

Some information received from Mozilla about the Open Labs:

"
This program starts next week and will run for 8 weeks. You will be a part of our community of founders, have access to talks, and some Q&A with the Mozilla mentors. Teams who actively participate throughout the program and are committed to shipping a build at the end of the program will also have some access to office hours or mentors (this part of the program will start later this month). There will be prizes of up to $10,000 available to those who complete the Open Lab.

Most teams that complete the Open Lab use the program, peer group community, and Mozilla mentors to focus their product strategy, ship product, and prepare their pitches for fundraising.

I got the invite as well and have submitted the application. Hope we both get in!

Yes, let us hope we get most out of the Open Lab. From the discussion on Mozilla Builders slack group members are saying that the invite for Open Lab is for all applicants. That email invite is a generic email sent to all those who did not make into MVP Lab or Studio!

Hmm, I missed that message. I am not going to get in then. I had 2 interviews, a call with one of the mentors, and feedback (review) by Mozilla on Twitter- all extremely positive but they essentially told me that you need to be technical or have a cofounder who is.

You has interviews, a call with mentor and feedback? That is really cool. I did not get any. Did they provide feedback on their own or did you ask for one?

I inferred this from their interview questions and it was the strong advice from one of their mentors. Also on one of the pitch calls they hosted, they specifically mentioned this on response to one of the questions.

Check your spam folder. On slack channel lot of people said that the email from Mozilla went into their spam folder.

Oh, I meant I missed the message on Slack about inviting everyone to Open Lab. I did get the email :)

There was no specific message from Mozilla mentioning that. It was the members of the group who were saying(probably speculating) that the invite to Open Labs is a general email sent to everyone.

The Open Lab kickoff has just started.

Just an addendum, do you know any other forums frequented by female startup aspirants(non-technical and technical) where I can post the invite. I am thinking to inviting more women to the team to strike the right balance.

Edit: Changed the word "females" to "women". I was given a healthy dose of advice on some other forums about this. Sorry if I hurt feelings of women on this forum as well.

        Only women can register there?

          1. 1

Oh, then I won't be able to join.

Maybe you could reach out to their team and request to post on your behalf?
