Just released this new product, need feedback please! #commitment

Hey everyone!

I've been working on something exciting—Committed, a tool we designed with my co-founder to help you turn your aspirations into achievements. Unlike typical goal trackers and productivity hacks, Committed focuses on accountability and meaningful progress that actually lasts.

We’re building this product with your needs in mind, aiming to create a tool that genuinely helps people stay committed and make real, lasting change.

We are inviting 10 volunteers to try it out! In return, all we ask is your honest feedback to help us improve the product!

If you are interested here’s how to join:

  1. Sign up on our website: https://youarecommitted.com/
  2. Create a draft commitment (no payment needed)
  3. We’ll identify the first 10 registrations
  4. We’ll add credits to your account so you can start using Committed right away
  • we will reach out this week

🚀 How Committed works:

  • Define what you'll achieve, how you'll do it, and why it matters
  • Set your own reminder schedule—daily, weekly, or monthly
  • Stay accountable with regular check-ins and track your progress

Thanks all!

    Hi
Sounds like an interesting idea. I was wondering if you could say on your website:

    • How the process works? E.g., Do people get emails to remind them? How do people notify you that they're still doing their commitment etc.
    • What you're looking to do through your service (hopefully based on evidence and research) that will mean your users will be more committed?
      GL!

      hello! thanks for the feedback.

We will make these more clear on the website but in the meantime this is how it works:

Q: Do people get emails to remind them?

Yes, but we want to add other channels of communications in the future.

Q: How do people notify you that they're still doing their commitment etc.

They simply check-in following the link in the reminder (or directly from the website), and mark if they are on track or off track. They can add a note too (a bit like a milestone).

Q: What you're looking to do through your service (hopefully based on evidence and research) that will mean your users will be more committed?

Most goal tracking apps focus on the method and aims to support customers with daily tracking & habit formation techniques. We want to capture the emotional element here, focus on "why", capture the motivation and ask them to make a symbolic one-off payment as a token of "commitment". This is largely based on our personal experience but we are planning to build more case studies with our users going forward. Perhaps the essence of Commitment is best captured with the following scene from Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins:

Training is Nothing, Will is Everything. The Will to Act.
I could not post the link but search the following on Youtube (watch from 2:25)
Batman Begins - The Will to Act (Training Scene HD)

(FWIW from our little corner of the vast startup landscape:) I've seen a fairly high number of productivity/self-improvement/personal goal apps mentioned on Reddit subs. So many in fact that they've gained a bit of a reputation as being non-serious.

I'm not a candidate for being a tester here but it may be worth sharing why yours is better/different?

    GL!

Hello, We all have areas of our lives where we can do better or we want to be better; so this is a needed app. I'd like to be a tester, but I'm concerned about whether or not the sign up and use would be accessible for me as a blind person depending on a screen reader. I'd love to talk accessibility in general if you are interested. Good luck, Maxwell
