Hey IH! 👋
Quick update from building PriceForge - just shipped a feature I'm really excited about: Auto-Updating Battlecards.
Sales teams build battlecards once, export them as PDFs, then they go stale in 3 months.
By the time a competitor changes pricing or moves a feature to a different tier, reps are still using outdated talking points. They find out in the middle of a call when a prospect says "actually, they just changed that."
Battlecards that auto-refresh when competitors make moves.
Here's how it works:
PriceForge monitors competitor pricing, packaging, features, and messaging
When a change is detected, the battlecard auto-updates with:
Latest Price/Package Move with timestamp (e.g., "Removed unlimited boards from Pro tier 4 hours ago")
Strategic Shift Analysis (e.g., "They're moving upmarket - upselling when users exceed limits")
Rep-Ready Lines - Pre-written talking points for sales calls
Visual Proof - Before/after screenshots
Sales teams get weekly digests: "Here's what changed and here's what to say about it"
When Upvoty changed their packaging this week, instead of just "pricing page updated," the battlecard now shows:
Latest Move: "Removed unlimited boards/users from POWER and SUPER tiers 3 days ago"
Strategic Signal: "Cost management shift - they're moving toward usage-based upsells"
Your Counter: "Highlight your unlimited model stays competitive. Update battlecard with this objection."
Visual Proof: Screenshot comparison with timestamp
Most battlecard tools are static. You build them once, manually.
This makes battlecards living documents that update themselves based on real competitor intel.
No more outdated PDFs. Just fresh, actionable intel your sales team can trust.
Just shipped the auto-refresh logic
Testing with 3 competitors (Featurebase, Upvoty, Canny)
Still $0 MRR but the feature validation is there
Building the export/digest layer next week
For those who've built sales tools or tracked competitors:
Do your sales teams actually use battlecards, or do they just sit in a folder?
What makes a battlecard actually useful vs just another doc?
Would auto-updates solve the "stale battlecard" problem, or is there something else I'm missing?
Building in public and would love feedback from anyone who's dealt with this! 🚀
Update: If you want to try it on your competitors, DM me. Happy to get early feedback.
