Just won 3 months of free access to a co-working space - how can I make the most of it?

The core benefit of coworking is networking.

Before you use your time to focus and deliver things. I have one tip for you. Show others you are available to connect. Three months is enough to make yourself easy to remember.

Take your time to prepare your "pitch" - to answer a question, "What are you doing?". Make super clear how others can help you whether you are looking for a connection with somebody from the business field, or person facing problem your product is solving.

Then you can continue working as usual.

Aside from getting some office-like focus time, I think co-working spaces are a great way to get other benefits:

1. If your product is targeted towards a similar customers as those sitting there, you have direct access to potential customers for interviews, sales, etc.
2. If other people there target a similar customers as you, you have a great opportunity to learn from them and get insight into your potential customers.

If the co-working space has a slack channel, utilise it to make the above connections. Tell people who you are and what you have experience in and offer to grab a coffee with people who has experience you're looking to tap into.

I was in a similar situation, I had 3 months of free access to a desk at WeWork sponsored by a company.

I got a lot of good work done during that time but I realized too late that the real value was in the networking with the community.

I should have spent more time talking to people at the office, because there were many people who could have been potential clients, or connectors that could put me in contact with potential clients.

But since I had lots of coding work to keep me occupied, I used that work as an excuse to not do networking. If I was doing it again, I would prioritize networking much more.
