Katly: Catalog Manager

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm a Computer Engineering student, and over the past few months I've been working on my first mobile app: Katly.

The idea came from a simple observation. Many small businesses still receive and manage dozens of PDF catalogs through WhatsApp, email, and different folders. Finding the right catalog at the right time becomes frustrating.

So I built Katly.

With Katly, users can:

  • 📂 Organize PDF catalogs into categories

  • 🔍 Find catalogs quickly with search

  • 📱 Keep all catalogs in one place

  • 🤝 Share catalogs easily

After many late nights, bug fixes, and redesigns, I finally published the app on Google Play.

I'm still at the beginning of this journey, and I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions from the Indie Hackers community.

“Keep all your catalogs in one place” is clear, but it’s also quite broad — which usually makes it harder for the right buyers to recognize themselves.

Tools like this tend to land better when they anchor to a very specific workflow or pain (e.g. syncing catalogs across channels, reducing listing errors, etc.)

Right now it feels like it could be useful to a lot of people, but not urgent for anyone.

Curious — what’s the most painful problem your current users are actually trying to solve with it?

If helpful, I can help narrow this into something that pulls in higher-intent users — feels like a positioning issue more than a product one

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! I really appreciate it.

You're right—the messaging is probably too broad at the moment.

The main problem I'm trying to solve is that many small businesses receive dozens of supplier PDF catalogs through WhatsApp, email, and different folders. When a customer asks for a product, finding the right catalog quickly becomes frustrating and time-consuming.

Katly solves this by organizing supplier catalogs in one place and allowing users to search inside PDF catalogs, making it easy to find both the right catalog and the right product in seconds.

Feedback like this is incredibly valuable. Thanks again!
