Keep attention to Enterpise or stay focused on the SaaS way?

Hi hackers!
I spent last weeks partecipating to various business networking events in my town (Naples - Italy). My intentions was to bring my product in the "physical world" :) and collect new kinds of feedbacks.

Talk with "physical people" suggested a way that I had never seriously considered: approach with large enterprises where my solution could bring huge benefits for teams that deliver softwares.

I have had the opportunity to explore enterprise options talking with a CTO of a big tech company (700+ employees) but after 3 weeks of chatter thay disappeared. This isn't a problem, it's absolutely normal in the business life, instead I learned lot of new things about enterprise relationships and opportunities (big deal, multi-stage selling, technology needs).

At the same time a Venture Capitalist cought my attention leaving me a suggestion: Stay focused on the SaaS way. In the future you could sell your company at 200/300 times the earnings (really???), instead an enterprise focused business (few big customers, more business risks) could be salable at 6/8 times the earnings.

My point of view

At this stage we can't follow two directions at the same time, so we would like to choose our master way.

Based on what I learned in these 6 months I believe that a solid SaaS could open some enterprise doors in the future, but vice-versa could be not so easy. So I would prefer to stay focused on the SaaS way.

Do you have experience in this field? Am I thinking in a wrong way? I'll appreciate your thought!
