Keep your remote teams connected with video updates

We're building our platform, VideoBagel, to help remote teams stay better connected.
We use asynchronous video updates with comment threads to help your team stay on track, reduce delays, and increase collaboration.

I'm working with a remote team that includes product managers + devs and i don't think i would use this for standups or daily updates.
Here's why:
I could totally see it working for company wide announcements but these are less frequent and can be done without additional software.
In summary, i don't see what is the added benefit vs text + sync video calls.

What we've found so far is that in dev // product land, teams are comprised of a handful of people working on one outcome (dev, designer, PM, QA). In this use case traditional standups make sense because everyone is 100% focused on the same thing - building the product.
For a lot of businesses, communication is more one way than collaborative. A manager or VP usually has team members who aren't working collectively on one thing. The challenge here is that in a standup, a large majority of the updates aren't relevant/applicable to the whole team. With asynchronous updates, the Manager/VP can pick the updates from team members they care most about, and then other team members can also only watch videos from their coworkers that they are working together with.

It looks dope Brandyn! If team is consisted of members in different timezone, it would be difficult to have everyone be in a live call. Async update is cool, and especial in video. Keep doing it! Also, don't forget to check out our community at lonely.dev & have fun :-)
