I am creating a Kickstarter campaign to create jewelry piece which uses a concept of an optical illusion (The ambiguous cylinder illusion).
This the first website I have ever designed and I would appreciate honest feedback and constructive criticism on the website, the copy and the idea in general.
The site: illusive.site
Let me know what do you think!
Thank you!
I love the jewellery piece. I think it looks really nice. My only concern is how will the illusion come across when someone is wearing it? i.e nobody will be able to see the illusion when the piece is sat flat on your chest? I guess it would just be a talking point and you would hold it and rotate it to show people the magic π
About the site:
Best wishes for your launch π
Thank you for taking the time to review the site.
I will redesign the sign-up box to make it more visible.
While wearing the illusion is viewable aswell if you change the side you are looking at the person. I.e if you view it from the right side you see one thing and you see the other when looking from the left. It will somewhat be influenced by the height of the person watching aswell as the shape depends on the viewpoint.
For that reason you see it the best if you hold and showcase it.
(It is also a really interesting thing to take a picture of)
You are right about the Kickstarter page link below.
(I will remove it until the page is live)
Thank you again!
That's so strange. Now you explain that it will look different from the left/right it totally makes sense - but I didn't imagine that when I looked at your site before.
Maybe you could change the mirror shot to be a left/right shot to illustrate this. Maybe it's just me, but I imagined the design changing in an up/down movement rather than left/right (I guess because the mirror shot shows the up/down orientation).
