I start my day with a tweet. Once a week I try to post on Indiehackers and Reddit.
I do all of them in the morning.
Then I start my designing projects, hit the gym in between and work till 10PM.
Heheh I envy your energy to hit the gym as well! Thanks for answering!
Maybe hitting the gym keeps the momentum going. Boosts the energy.
Great thread, the comments are really interesting, thank you for starting this conversation! I've learnt a lot from it!
Glad to help Kearsan! Thanks for reading and asnwering
I've been trying to actually build a consistent schedule. Love the comments here. It shows that there isn't one way to do this!
There isn't one. Build your own based on some common principles.
Posting consistently is tough for me, so I write and schedule out content for the week ahead on Sundays. Usually try to go one piece of original content on X and TikTok in the morning, and then in the afternoon I'll try to bang out 4-5 replies and maybe one off the dome tweet.
Scheduling can make us to save a lot of time and it also saves my mind.
As my posting has gotten more consistent, I find my social posting time is usually at the end of the day before bed. I might accumulate ideas for posts throughout the day and write them down in Notion or something for later, but the actual formulation and posting takes place before bed, which is also when I plan out my next day. I find having the day to think about the ideas I want to post results in a feed that more accurately reflects my goals. This is just what works for me, looking forward to hearing about some other routines to learn from.
Accumulating ideas sounds a good reason. Sometimes I feel this is the path!
This is a great topic. I must admit that I go through all of the phases highlighted in this article. For me, Social Media is obviously powerful but obviously distracting. I would love to reject this form of marketing entirely (because it is too distracting and the dopamine rush is real!) but that would be unwise for the products I'm building.
Something that has worked for me: I schedule posts on Saturday and Sunday. Then I proceed to delete the apps throughout the week. As long as I am disciplined enough not to download it, I am in a much better place throughout the week :)
Hope this helps!
Can help for sure! It's clever to understand why are we in social media! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I actually try to stay off social media because it can be a distraction.
What ends up as 5 minutes can often turn into 30 minutes.
Those dopamine chemicals are strong.
So strong. But we all who need stay on social media must set a kind of routine to avoid dopamine effects
Need to recognize I'm one of those who belong the first group.
Maverick here! =)
