Kintsu hit 2,200 waitlist: what we learned from our first 65 beta users

honestly I wasn't expecting the response we got.

Kintsu.ai is a WordPress AI platform that lets you edit existing sites through natural language chat. Works with any theme: Divi, Elementor, custom builds, whatever you have.

We launched with 40 beta users in February. Now we're at 65 active users and 2,200+ waitlist.

here's what surprised us the most:

The agency problem is bigger than we thought

We built Kintsu thinking it would mostly help business owners. Turns out agencies and freelancers are our biggest power users.

They're using it to handle routine client requests faster. simple stuff like updating text, swapping images, tweaking layouts.

one agency owner told us "this lets me take on 3x more clients without hiring anyone."

Existing sites vs new sites

Most WordPress AI tools only build new sites. we focused on editing existing ones from day one.

that decision basically created our entire market. People have existing sites they love. They just want to update them without breaking everything.

The sandbox preview changes everything

This was our biggest technical bet. Every change shows in a sandbox first. You see exactly what it'll look like before it goes live.

Users kept mentioning this in feedback. Nobody wants their live site to break because an AI made a mistake.

What's working

Our beta users are editing sites 3-4x faster than traditional methods. average session time is 12 minutes vs 45+ minutes manually.

we're seeing weekly retention at 73%. People come back.

What's next

We're opening more beta slots in May. Still keeping it invite-only for now.

Working on advanced design features and better theme compatibility. The goal is handling any WordPress site, no matter how complex.

free tier stays free forever. paid plans start at $29/mo.

Who else is building in the WordPress space? curious what patterns you're seeing.
