Hey fellow developers π,
Many of us work with or around Kubernetes, and while it's powerful, it definitely comes with its own set of challenges, especially from a developer's day-to-day perspective.
I'm trying to get a better sense of the common pain points the community experiences. For instance, things I've personally run into or seen others struggle with include:
- The infamous YAML wrangling.
- The initial steep learning curve.
- Integrating K8s smoothly into CI/CD workflows.
- Setting up effective monitoring without a dedicated DevOps team.
- Navigating security best practices.
What about you?
- If you're using Kubernetes: What were your biggest "arrrgh!" moments when starting, or what still feels more complex than it should be?
- If you've avoided Kubernetes: What are the main reasons or perceived barriers that have kept you away?
- What's one thing you wish was radically simpler about developing with/for Kubernetes?
Looking to start a discussion here to share experiences and maybe identify common themes. What are your thoughts?
