Lander feedback: Make me cry from shame! 😫

Site: https://www.ProWriter.co

Our demos are (a) freelance writers who want to improve their skills and career (b) those interested in getting into the freelance writing world.

From the lander...

  • Do you understand what we do?
  • Do you get who we're for?
  • Do you know what our values and benefits are?
  • (If you were a writer) Are you inspired to want to sign up?
  • What parts tickled your fancy and what parts made you sick?

Tear it to shreds!

Stay awesome,

    Hi Dave,

I think the best feedback for you is that I signed up!

Sean is right though, it's ambiguous as to what type of writing you mean when there are so many types of freelance writer.

If you mean all types, make that clear, otherwise people interested in a certain niche may leave because you don't specifically mention it.

You also need to be clearer as to what is included in the free tier, and what you get for pro. A direct comparison would be really useful to avoid people signing up expecting more for free than they get. Or not signing up because they don't think they'll get anything without paying.

Overall it's a good site though, and the offerings are appealing. I think you just need to add some clarity to avoid losing readers because they don't quite know if they're the target market or not.

    I hope this helps

    Jon

Here is some feedback for you.

While it is mostly clear what you do, I think you have some room for improvement. First of all, "writer" is a pretty broad term which could include authors, copywriters, journalists, poets, technical writers, speechwriter and any number of people who work with the written word. I'd be specific.

Also, I think having so many choices makes things a bit confusing. Especially if you're targeting beginners who aren't sure where to start, all those things may cause paralysis by analysis.

Ideally, it would be best to try to position your offering as one thing rather than trying to be everything. You could do that by focusing on just one of those areas and making the others secondary.

If you feel like you have to have it all, then I would at least try to present the info in a more strategically organized fashion. For instance, you could present it as steps in the customer journey, starting with courses to learn what they need to know, the portfolio could be the next step, then finding gigs, etc. Then users could self-select where they are and what they need.

I wouldn't call them free courses if you are charging a monthly fee. And if you want to charge, you should do more to convince people it's worth paying for. Show some social proof. Share some results. Demonstrate and quantify the return on that investment. Explain your qualifications.

    Best of luck.

@SeanKirby This was really awesome feedback. Especially great because I see that you're a writer.

The main takeaways I see are it's too vague and too much. Be more specific of who its for and what they're paying for.

We definitely need to get who we are and social proof on the page.

I'm thinking of one of the sections in the redesign will have a step-by-step outline of the phases we walk writers through. If you're launching your writing career we first will provide you X, then we'll move onto Y, and then Z, etc.

I see you're from Philly! Same. If it wasn't a pandemic I'd say we should grab coffee haha

My pleasure. Glad you found it helpful.

I didn't even realize we are in the same area. Perhaps when COVID finally ends we can meet up.
