Landing page advice

I have created a dashboard for performing drug-design/repurposing as a demo for an API based service that I am creating. Right now, the dashboard is an example of what my AI based service (served by the API) is capable of. Right now, I have a Mailchimp landing page, and a product hunt post.

The product hunt post has barely any likes and the Mailchimp page got me barely around 20 people who were interested in the product. My friends in pharma however think that the service could be useful, but I’m worried about investing more time and money in developing an API based SaaS without more prospective leads.

Should I make a new, more compelling landing page to get more people to sign up, or rather concentrate on designing the API service before making a landing page?

I wouldn't do any more backend stuff.

Your priority should be both talking to and building a list of potential users.

And you just need to showcase a demo of your product to get to that step. You don't need to build the full thing.

A good example of this is @patio11. He had an idea of coming up with a schedule appointment service for hair salons. The last thing on his checklist was building the product. Instead he went into hair salons to talk to and build a list of potential users**.

If you can get a sufficient amount of interest, then you should look at building out the full thing. So yeah, perhaps make a better landing page. But then try to get in front of your target market.

    • Emailing
    • Calling
    • Talking in person
    • Perhaps even some ads ...

And trying to get feedback and if they like it capture their emails ...

If you miss out this step, you're could well fall into the trap of building something no one actually wants ...
