Overall concept is clear, but the sales pitch is missing the most important bit -- explaining/demonstrating "relevant content"
Pick your first/largest target market and put something like thia right on your landing page:
"did you know what happened last week in the React community -- news 1, news 2, news 3. Stay up to date with the most relevant news from the React world"
...and keep changing this every week (either manually or via your product, if it's ready)

I have to build it out a bit to show this. This landing page was a way to help me figure out if there is enough interest to warrant doing so. I really like your marketing idea but I it leads to the “chicken or the egg” question. Do I build it to show the value or can I tune the landing page enough to demonstrate the value well enough to gage interest.
As is usual in life, there rarely seems to be a “one size fits all” answer to this.
My take away is that the landing page needs to demonstrate the concept more. I may just need to build it out enough that I can pluck the best items from the underlying feed algorithm and present them in a rotator on the landing page.

Fake it till you make it. Manually curate the news for 3-5 audience segments and change the content once every week. Once you get enough signups, you know you have to automate the process (and build out the product), else you'll be stuck with manual curation forever!
