Landing Page Feedback
Hey all :)
I'm looking for feedback on my landing page. I think I've made a good amount of additions to it! But I'm wondering where I could make improvements. -- If you have suggestions, or if you want to drop your landing page in the comments below, I'll check it out.
I just took a look at your site, looks like an interesting product. Here is some feedback on the landing page:

The way it's formatted is really helpful, also there's a ton of insight here, thank you :)
I went straight to the video and because it started with how to create an exercise, I thought this is a tool for creators of learning material. It took me a while to run over the rest of the page and realize the target audience is actually learners. So, my suggestion is either to start the video with a learner selecting an exercise and completing it, and only then show how it was created, or move the creation stuff to a different landing page targeting creators.
Ah I see what you mean. Yeah it seems like a lot of the feedback is around confusion between is it a tool for creators or for learners. This app is supposed to be a stylistic/organizational improvement over something like Anki, so yeah for learners not creators. Thanks for the feedback that's really helpful!
It seems an interesting product.
Just one thing I don't like is the colors of the "login/register" buttons.
I'll try the same color used on the footer and not a gradient which is perfect on "Level up".

I think you need to be more specific about what your product does.
As a designer, we have a saying "less is more." Try to be more clear about what you want to say and how you are solving problems for your users.
Make your CTA more inviting by cleaning up your 'about the fold' section.
I like the color scheme and animations! I think my only feedback is there's no clear call to action. I think the goal is to get users to register. I'd make the register button stand out a little more, maybe a different color and location on the page. Maybe even change the wording on the register button to "Get Started" or something like that.
Just my two cents. Looks great! Well done!
All the graphics are in motion as you scroll to them but I would peg that first one in the completed position and not have it move because right next to it the video is taking off. I think the video should go under your first text block because when they are side by side the video is pulling my attention away from the text - show me one thing at a time that you want me to know or see.

I would add some padding to the top hero image to add some spacing to the website. Also, consider making the login and register two different colors so website visitors can tell that there is a difference between the two. Great use of white space.

Hey there! First of all, I want to congratulate you for building your website.
We're currently working on our landing page as well, but I actually agree with one comment here that it may have been created by the web developer alone.
Remember, web designer, copywriters, and web developer needs to work hand-in-hand. Without any of the three, it may lack something, which I actually thought of looking at your landing page.
Next up is the spacing. I would've been great if the text can take up most of the space, then the video can be placed somewhere in the side/s with a small thumbnail, or under the headline.
The colors are quite plain too, and there are too many negative spaces. And what about the menu bar? Does the whole website really work without them?
Yes this was created by me alone :). All my code, no templates or anything like that.
And yeah the app functions without a menu bar. The colors are https://www.nordtheme.com/ so they are meant to be somewhat muted.
Text taking up most of the space makes sense and I'll take a look at that negative spaces article you linked, thanks! :)

I was the same. I thought default bootstrap would do. But the market is extremely competitive.

The editor is honestly amazing, I wish I went with your solution, you've even got a calendly integration which is super helpful. My only criticism is the editor looks a bit unprofessional, mostly because

It should auto start based on its properties. I have notice it is flakey though and sometimes won't auto start as you mentioned.
I found the auto-play video really distracting. As soon as I landed, I started reading the heading and the sub-heading, but then the video off to the right drew away my attention before I could finish reading the sub-heading.
The above-the-fold portion of the page doesn't feel like it has a hierarchy in terms of what it wants me to look at, so I gave up.
Video right in the beginning takes too much space in my opinion, the text in left gets a bit tights. I would make it smaller, like 50/50 split between the text and the video.
Buttons login and register are very easily missed, you need to add some focus to them as well.
Overall though, I would hire a designer and rebuild it a bit.
Maybe I should reduce the amount of content on the left and adjust some sizing? 50/50 and maintaining 16:9 makes the video pretty small.
It's responsive, so it resizes at certain widths. Maybe it would be better if I went with the mid-size layout all the time.
Yea I think the layout with the video in the middle makes sense, but then you have to be careful with the top part feeling a bit empty.
If you put some background in the top part that might solve it. We had a similar problem as well and just found a nice background image (https://multy.dev/). Our website doesn't look very good as it was also designed by developers :)
