Landing page feedback and product impressions

Hello people. I've released https://timeq.co recently and I'd love to get some feedback on the landing page and the idea you're receiving about the product it's presenting. The key about the app is it's simplicity / minimalism, so I wanted to reflect that in the landing page too.
Thanks!

My initial impressions are not too dissimilar from the feedback you're already received:

    • I love the concept, it's straight to the point. I do think the minimalism however is a bit too much; I think you could provide more context on the first part of the page to grab the attention of the user a bit more.
    • perhaps have the 'request an invite' on both the top and bottom of the page - this makes it easier for me to sign up
    • I guess you're facing completion from the likes of Jira and other project management tools. It would be good to highlight what is different about your startup and what you're offering

I will surely repeat the CTA at least once more.
About highlighting what's different about the competition - well, I thought I was doing it, looks like it's too subtle though. I'll work on that. Thank you very much!

Your fonts are way too small. I would make them at least twice larger.

      Thanks, I'll try some variants

I came here and commented only because of the keyword "minimalism". I built a minimal product myself so I can feel you RIGHT there!

Overall the site is very clean, the points are clearly presented, though I think it can increase the CVR if you can:

    • The headline: Beautiful Time Tracking. What does it mean? What's the pain point you are trying to solve? Wait, if it's a time tracking app, why is there "Invoice your clients."???

    • Make both the fonts and the images larger. I know the logo font is thin so you'll want things to look thin and small, but the purpose of a landing page is to inform, impress and convert. If things are too small, we don't get to deliver the first purpose.

    • Turn the headings from feature-based to benefit-based. Honestly, I understand that TimeQ is "bloat-free and effortless", but how does that help me? I will need to read on to the description. "Easily start and stop your timer, inspect your time logs and analyze your most active periods" -> These don't really support what you're trying to say. If what you are emphasizing is the time-saving benefit, pls tell me how many FEWER steps I need to take to start/stop timer, check history...
Same for other headings, Nicolas :)

    • I really love the "Simple yet powerful" part where you showcase the UI and the features. This is awesome because I'll know right away if this product is for me. I think it will be better if you can add small notes explaining about what's included in a screenshot.

    • If you only require an email, then why don't you just show the email form right away? It will tell me that "Oh, there's only 1 SINGLE STEP I need to sign up, how easy!"

I've been working on like hundreds of versions for my landing page and it's stopping at around 30-35% CVR, which I think is reasonable. If you want me to help with newer version, email me any time!

Thank you very much! These insights are gold. I'll review the copy, I get what you say - I'm focusing in describing the software more than describing its benefits. I might ping you again soon! Thanks!!

I like it. Takes me back to a few years ago when tools like this got you excited to try it rather than worried about whether it will or won't do what you need.

The content is very much to the point, the pricing is super clear and instantly made me request an invite.

Only negatives for me are what some others have said: font sizing, content above fold is cool for a closed beta, but perhaps not enough for a full launch. But I'm guessing you were planning for something different anyway.

      Loud and clear 😉

Actually, I haven't planned much. I built this for myself, and later I wanted to release it and see how it goes, so there is no much planning involved sadly.

Here are my first impressions. Hope it helps.

    1. There is not enough content above the fold. I understand you're trying to keep with the minimalism theme, but this is a sales page. You need to sell your users on why this app is amazing. A screenshot of the app or demo video, to show people it's simplicity / minimalism would help a great deal.

    2. Make the "Request an invite" a button that stands out more (i.e. green or blue). That is your call-to-action (CTA), so at a quick glance, you should be able to spot it.

    3. Reduce the steps of entering your email. Clicking on "Request an invite" button should immediately open the form to submit your email, not require the user to scroll to the bottom of the page and then click on the button again. Less steps = higher conversion rates.

Thank you very much, this is really useful. I haven't realized that the first request an invite button actually carried more scroll and another click... 🤦‍♂️ I'll work on this asap!

No visual element above the fold?

There are a ton of similar products. What makes it different?

No visual element above the fold?

So, my thoughts are it's not like there is little content above the fold, there's no content at all - just a clear message. So the user will look for the content below, and I just make that quicker by making the page rapidly "jump" to the first block of copy as soon as the user scrolls 1px. I this way it showcases the "zen" minimalism I try to make outstand without compromising too much of the user time.

There are a lot of similar products indeed. There are some factors that made me build my own. I wasn't entirely happy with what I've tried. Mainly the time tracking + invoicing combo and the clean and fast interface. And it's free for freelancers. Those are my personal highlights!
