Hey Indie Hackers,
Recently, a friend and me decided to start a new project: CanWeLaunch.com, a tool to help you get to know your sweet spot users and track product-market fit.
We've been working on a couple of projects in the past, but failed... One major reason was that we did not focus on finding product-market fit early on. Instead, we kept on working from our own assumptions and ideas, leaving us with products that we thought were cool, but we had a hard time bringing to market.
So we identified an opportunity: if we are struggling, so must others (that's our assumption at least). That's why we started CanWeLaunch.com. But, before we actually start building anything, we want to test our assumption. That's why we launched our landing page first: https://www.canwelaunch.com/
We love to get feedback from you. Things we are particularly interested in are:
And if you think this product could help you, don't hesitate to sign up of course ;-)
#landing-page-feedback
Hi, I would like a better description in header of page, before I have to scroll it, I think the first 3 seconds , it is very valuable. The better ideas come when we learn about our fails, I wish you the best in this project.
Hey Mark,
I like the idea of having a product for this problem, although I would reframe it differently.
Basically you're creating a feedback tool that will help founders achieve product/market fit (very desirable ).
The name can be confusing. "Can we launch" might be a name for a founder/indiepreneur without a product and clients, however your product seems targeted for people with a product and users.
I think there's also an opportunity to sell this as a service rather than as a product, but I'd love to know more about who's your target market and what pain points are you trying to solve for them?
The way this project has been reverse-engineered is very interesting. It has a clear premise, as presented by the website. Is it just me, or does the name need a question mark? 'Can We Launch?' rather than 'Can We Launch'. Maybe you could delve deeper into the 'are-we-ready to-launch-yet?' dilemma on the website, posing questions to the viewer and positioning yourselves as the solution. I will ask @volkandkaya question again, is this a service or SaaS? If this is an AI, I would be very impressed.
anding page looks nice.
Is this a service or a SaaS. Or is that something you're testing as well? I only ask because I doubt an AI can decide what is the best questions to ask an audience.
Not sure how useful this will be for pre 100 customers, unless they have a big list. Even then video calls have provided the most value for me when trying to learn from customers.
Keep us updated :)
Hey all,
Thanks for all the feedback, I really appreciate it!
Looks like our landing page could still use some TLC ;-)
To answer some of the questions (which should have been clear from the landing page). We are focussing on building a SaaS tool which asks sensible default questions to the users of a particular product. No AI (yet). Based on the answers to these questions we'd like to help startup founders gain insight in who is in their product's sweet spot, who is actually loving what they are building? And, just as important, we want to help our users to learn what they should double down on (because it is what makes them stand out from the crowd according to their fans) and what they should build next. This to, in the end, help them find product-market fit.
When we thought up this project we wanted to focus on founders who HAVE a product and some users, but who HAVEN'T gone live with it yet. Typically products have a beta-stage in which users are welcomed, but where the product isn't publicly promoted yet. By "Launch", we meant the transition from a beta-product to public launch. It's at that moment that you really like to know who you are targetting and what your USP is. However, we are at this moment reevaluating this since we've learned that this is probably something you want to do continuously (also after going live) and our current name might give the impression that our proposition could help startups BEFORE they have users...
At this moment we are adjusting our landing page based on your feedback. When a new version is live I will update it here.
Once again, thanks for all the feedback so far!
