Landing Page feedback for Readshack

Hey, I'm looking for feedback on this landing page: https://www.readshack.com/

That would be great if you can tell me if the overall page including what you will be able to do with the app is clear to you.

🤞

Thanks!

    1. The content in the screenshots could show more links apart from HN
    2. The vectors except for the second one are not in line with messaging.
    3. There could be simple FAQ addressing questions that a potential user might have.
    4. More screenshots of the app could be shown.
    5. "Discover, Read and Share" is very generic in messaging and could be ideally replaced with one killer feature that users would die for.

      Thanks for your review!

You understood it as a messaging app, that's interesting.
What elements made you think so?

It's actually kind of a combo between Twitter & Pocket.

No no, I did not understand it to be a messaging app, I said your messaging on the landing page is very generic, kindly re-read my message. I see it be more like a pocket for mobile with social functions.

Oh, my bad, I misunderstood that! Thanks for the explanation.

If I may, what would be the one killer feature that you would die for?

Style: Nice, but plain. Doesn't really make me think this is going to be a wildly creative solution.
What I think this thing does: I'm guessing I don't pick my interests, and instead browse what other users are reading, and decide if I like the same stuff. If so, the app will send me similar reading content. Maybe it'll curate further based on what I actually read. I doubt it's limited to mobile, but not totally sure.

Thanks! You're right on both points.

As a starter, it will be a Web app (browser or installable with "Add to home screen" on iOS, native prompt on Android).

What would make it a creative solution for you?

    1. Color scheme/ethos feels almost identical to the skimm (theskimm.com)
    2. Be more concise with the subheading. Yes, "An app for those who can't get enough stuff to read and learn from the Web" is grammatically correct, but it doesn't sound as casual as the rest of the brand suggests. I'd just remove that entire line and lean into "Stay on top of things..."
    3. Icons should clearly mirror the copy that they line up with. The share icon doesn't really imply sharing.
    4. When you do have a manifesto, you should put a consolidated version on the homepage. Without a more robust website, there's no reason to bury your mission statement on a second page.
    5. Agree with udprakash that you should include more than HN and that more screenshots of the app would be useful. Current state just makes it look like an email platform for news.
    6. If you have reviews, even just friends & family, you should include them.

      I appreciate your feedback, thanks.

A consolidated version of the manifesto on the homepage would be a great addition. Testimonials too. Thanks for that!

A curated reading list. Sort of a mash-up between macOS Reading List feature + http://www.wiseapp.com/
