Landing Page Feedback [K8s Dev Troubleshooting Tool]

Hey everyone!

I just published a landing page for a new startup I'm working on, and I wanted your feedback on it. (https://www.kerno.io/)

Target audience: Backend/Cloud developers

USP: Lightweight tool designed specifically for developers

Let me know what you think.

P.s. Happy to return the favor if you need help with anything :)

Thanks!

    Congratulations on your new startup!

First of all, I like your page's overall design and layout. It's simple, clean, and easy to navigate. The image of the laptop with the code editor is relevant and appealing to your target audience. The headline is clear and benefit-focused, and the subheadline explains what your tool does in a concise way.

However, there are some areas where I think you can improve your landing page to increase conversions. Here are some suggestions based on landing page best practices:

    • Show your customers that you can be trusted. You can add some social proof elements to your page, such as testimonials, reviews, ratings, logos of customers or partners, or awards and certifications. These can help you build credibility and trust with your visitors and show them that your tool is reliable and effective.

    • Optimize your call-to-action (CTA). Your CTA button is the most important element on your landing page, as it's the final step before conversion. You should make sure that your CTA button stands out from the rest of the page, using a contrasting color and clear and compelling text. You should also avoid using generic words like "Submit" or "Sign up", and instead use action-oriented words that convey the value of your offer, such as "Start coding faster" or "Get early access".

    • Build forms with user experience (UX) in mind. Your lead form is another crucial element on your landing page, as it's where you collect your visitors' contact information. You should ensure that your form is easy to fill out and only asks for the information you need. You should also explain why you need their information and how you will use it, such as sending them updates or inviting them to a beta test. You can also add some incentives or benefits to your form, such as a free trial, a discount code, or a bonus feature.

    • Make your landing page engaging. You can use some interactive or dynamic elements on your landing page to capture the attention and interest of your visitors. For example, you can use animations, videos, gifs, or quizzes to showcase your tool and its features. You can also use storytelling techniques to create an emotional connection with your visitors and show them how your tool can solve their problems or improve their lives.

I hope these suggestions are helpful to you. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want me to generate some content for you, such as headlines, CTAs, testimonials, or videos.

I didn't have too long to take a look, but happy to do so again. Main thing I noticed here is spacing. Give your sections some space to breathe here and it'll improve legibility across the page.

The sections look good and you've got the right elements for a good landing page, again just at least from me right now, give everything some more room is what I'd say.

      Great point. Done :)

      Thank you!

    Congratulations for your startup.

What I like about your web design page is that everything is very much color-coded.

My one feedback would be "to frame why and how Kerno is engineered for developers and how that is a great thing for developers'.

If you thought about doing a product explainer video for Kerno, I am available to write a free landing page script for Kerno.

Let me know if you are interested.

I love the design! Everything is clear and well-written. I have just one comment, which you can see here - https://visualdebug.com/show/kerno.io

A few quick notes, though ymmv since I am not your target audience--

    • Not having a navbar feels off and doesn't anchor me to typical web experiences where it is muscle memory for me to sign up.

    • The strikethrough text treatment doesn't seem to really add enough to your messaging to justify the awkward reading experience. Again though, I am not your target audiece to ymmv.

    • Your screenshot is really dense, so I end up processing little to no information from it. Thus, it's wasted space. Maybe consider replacing it or using a simplified UI that directly gets your point across.

    • Four features in your section is too many for me to want to take the time to read. Consider simplifying it to three. Additionally, it's rendering on my screen as four lines of text. Most web visitors will read two lines and skip anything longer.

Beyond that I would probably be too out of my zone to offer advice. One thing to consider if your product is as technical and B2B as it looks-- you need more content and reading material on your site to convert people. Your product doesn't look like the kind of thing where a highly transactional approach will work. Maybe consider adding a lot more information about what the product is, who your company is, and more.

Hi @tkar. Congrats on publishing the landing page. I took a look. The main feedback I have is that the hero section is not doing enough to target users with the specific problem you're providing a solution for. Within seconds of visiting the page, I should be able to determine whether or not the product is for me. "A Cloud Troubleshooting Experience Engineered for Developers" hardly tells me anything. Does it help me troubleshoot connection issues? Is it a monitoring tool? Is it ideal for a specific service EKS, Fargate...? Especially at the early stage, the more targeted you can be, the better.

It's a website. I will not talk about the content side of things but will focus on the visual side.

Recently I stumbled upon a great slide with an explanation for the client why the given layout was chosen:

I will leave it here :)

Overall - I know where to click, spacing inside sections is too tight and too big between them. For me, the base type is too small on a big screen. But overall - you did a decent job.

Developer tools and dark mode. The combination that crafts the internet these days. Love it! Dev tools are a special place for me, the product I'm currently a designer for https://www.dokkimi.com is a tool in a similar space.

Congratulations on getting the landing page up and running. I have some feedback for you in a figjam file located here: https://tinyurl.com/branhills-crit-kerno
