Landing page feedback please?

Hi!

I am building my first app and I just made a landing page for it.
It is my very first landing page, if anyone has any comments and suggestions they would be very welcome!

The app is called habitual and it's a very simple habit tracker.
I am still developing it but I truly hope to be able to launch soon (at least the first version).
In the landing page you can see the demos of the parts I already built :)

Let me know what you think!

LANDING PAGE: https://gethabitual.com/

Nestled away in the about page, I read this is your first app? You should be proud ✊ Forming new habits is about improving your life and I think your brand captures that beautifully 🌲🌸

When I landed on the page I wanted to answer "what makes habitual different from other
    habit-tracking applications?"
but the value proposition wasn't immediately clear. Also tucked away in the about page I read "Although I love having a physical journal and writing things down 'pen and paper', I always found many aspects of it very inconvenient... I wanted it to be simple, easy, nice to use, and pleasant to look at." Aha! Now I understand!

... Habitual makes me feel good when I open it by greeting me with a charming brand that promotes wellness πŸƒ. By clearly visualising my progress, I feel motivated to keep on going. No ads, no cruft I don't need. Because it's all tracked on my device, I can update my progress conveniently and, in the future, maybe from my other devices.

Generally, users like me are kinda selfish. Users need to answer "what can the app do for me?" before they'll reciprocate your ask. In this case, you ask the user to "Get Habitual" before offering a truly compelling reason. By tweaking your value proposition, you can increase the number of conversions.

Additionally, you should specify which platforms Habitual supports. At the moment, your call-to-action takes you to a form, which is a great example of a landing page MVP. While you're in this pre-launch phase, you could add a form item like "your device?". This will help you collect a bit more data about which devices people are using if it's helpful. By the time you link to an app, it'll be important to set the right expectation for your user otherwise they might bounce.

To tighten up your brand, you should commit to either "us" or "me" in your copy. For example, in the footer you write "talk with us" and in the about page, you write about yourself. There is no "us", right? And that's okay πŸ˜‚. You already injected so much personality into the website. In my humble opinion, you should double down and talk to the reader personally and directly on the homepage!

Wow thank you so much!! This is so incredibly useful (and so very nice!) advice!
For the last point, I am just so weirdly shy about using "me" but you are so right, might as well double down πŸ˜› I completely agree with all your comments, and I definitely am going to implement your suggestions! Thank you so much again :D

The landing page is cute @norretta really like the choice of illustrations

Just one feedback, maybe just me, I found the body text a bit hard to really. I think it's because I get used to normal system font.

I'm also improving my site, keen to hear your feedback as well!

      About your site:

I like that it's very minimal and clean, I really like the calendar, it really makes it easy to see the events! I found annoying though that I have to scroll through all the tools to even realise there is a calendar, maybe you can cut the list and put a load more button?

Also I noticed that when I load the page in the fixed header there is only the logo, if I click a link at the very bottom it opens a new page but brings me on a point that technically is still on the same page but now on the fixed header there is also a search button an Notion logo: I would add the links on the fixed header always, and open a new page only when it is actually a different page.

I think I might have made it very confusing, sorry!

Hey @norretta - Thank you so much for your feedback :)

I've added your ideas on my pipeline hahaha.

Would love to stay in touch and show you how I implement your ideas in the 2.0 version. Are you on Twitter? Here's mine

Hi! Thank you so much for having a look!
I completely get the comment about the text, I thought about it a lot as I was making the page but decided to go with it anyways. The thing is for now what I care the most about is the feel that the page gives, more than the words themselves. So having an handwritten font style is actually very important. I will try other combinations though and maybe change the longer text parts to make it easier to read! Thank you!
(My app is almost completely text free so hopefully this won't be a big obstacle in the future)

Hey Nora, I would work on your hero shot of the landing page. That's the first thing people see and if it doesn't catch their attention, they will drop off. Try communicating the problem your solving clearly within one easy sentence.

    1. 1

Yes, thank you for this feedback!! I completely agree with you, I found the hero shot to be soooo difficult to think of and because I am not 100% sure yet on my target audience I ended up coming up with a half way solution that can totally be very much improved! Thanks again 😊

Hey, I left some feedback on the screenshot at the link, feel free to reply to my comments https://app.pilotui.com/?id=5f3de1e7c6da370017ccb4fc

    1. 1

Thank you for the comments! I'll give it a try :)

Love it. I am a fan of Atomic Habits too and am already using a habit tracker app which has helped me a lot, but your app's visuals are cool. I have signed up.

    1. 1

Ahhhhh thank you so much! Hope I won't disappoint πŸ€—

  6. 2

    Justify their failures! :)

Why they did fail to create a habit with other similar tools?

How does you tool help avoid it?

The more this seems like a "new opportunity" or something that will help them make the change this time will help you drastically with conversions.

    Makes sense? @norretta

    1. 2

Hi! Yes it totally makes sense!
You are very right, I should make it more obvious why specifically my app can help them where others failed πŸ€”
Thanks a lot for the suggestions!

    I like it!

It's very approachable and has a friendly look and feel to it. An aesthetic I think would resonate with people β€” it's nicely done.

    A few observations:

    • The main title "BUILD HABITS. TRACK DAILY. EASY :)" could be larger to have a greater initial impact.
    • When clicking on the about & contact links in the footer, the content switches, but the scroll position stays the same. It'd be worth scrolling the page to the top
    • If you refresh or deep link to contact or about, I get a firebase 404 page β€” think that could be fixed by configuring rewrites
    1. 2

Ah thank you so much!! And thank you for your points, going to fix them (if I can manage) right now!

  8. 2

First of all - very well done.

I would only suggest to add a video on the home page and probably add a blog (your about page could be first blog post).

    All the best!

    1. 3

Hi! Thank you so much for taking time and having a look!
I really like the idea of the blog, will definitely give it a try!
For the video you mean as the first thing you see on the main page I assume? Because at the moment I have "how to use" videos on the page but you need to scroll to see them...

  9. 2

Maybe you could get the videos to start playing on scroll? I am viewing on mobile, and they were part way through by the time I got to them. Looks nice though!

    1. 2

Thank you! I will definitely try to change/fix the trigger for the videos.
Not going to lie though, it took me so long to just make the video work in the first place I think it will take me a while to fix the timing πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
