Hey IH!
I had this idea for a while now and decided to finally try and get a MVP up and running. One of the biggest pain points after launching a product is marketing and content marketing is one of the best ways to build awareness, build backlinks, and stay relevant. Getting inspiration from Help A Reporter Out (HARO), I wanted to build a similar system which enables indie hackers and smaller products to generate PR through collaborations like guest posts, sharing case studies, interviews, etc, with people who are looking for those types of things.
Is my value proposition clear? Any feedback on how to improve my landing page?
Thanks!
To answer your question, yes, I get it 💯. I stumbled when I read "topic sources" because that term didn't sound natural to me. You might consider revising it.
What I still don't quite grok is which call-to-action applies to me. I figure if I'm a content marketer, I should click "Find a Source". Wait, should I also subscribe to the newsletter for "collaborative opportunities" as well? The "For content creators" and "For topic sources/experts" sections make the call-to-action really clear but elsewhere, it's muddy.
The tricky part here is that you have two audiences -- content creators and influencers. To address this, you write in the third-person which I think, puts you at risk of sounding like a services company.
By featuring "topic sources" below "content creators" you also introduce a hierarchy. Am I correct in thinking neither is more important than the other?
I suggest featuring both audiences side by side and using persuasive first-person language to show you understand the customer's problem and care about solving it. Feature the appropriate call-to-action on each side.
It would also be natural to create separate landing pages for content creators and influencers, as these will support you in your marketing and sales endeavors. For example, if you target a long-tail keyword like "find influencers to interview", you can be sure you'll be appealing to a content marketer.
Thank you for the detailed feedback! I agree with you on all the points you mentioned.
I was thinking of a word or phase that describe that audience and "Topic Sources" was what came to mind. I think I need to spend a little more time to figure that out. I like your use of the word influencers so maybe ill incorporate that somehow.
I agree with the hierarchy. I thought about putting it side by side, but that would cause the page to feel very cramped with information.
I thought about creating separate landing pages but still need to somehow tie them together on a home screen and not take away potential conversations with too many clicks.
Lots to consider. I appreciate the reply!
If it helps at all I had this challenge when I built the CometChat website.
CometChat have two very different products with different audiences but needed a common homepage and brand.
Hi @vchange, how can I reach you directly to discuss Citemi?
Hey @vchange, your content copy is clear and easy to understand.
Though, the term "topic sources" is easy to misunderstand. It took me 2 minutes to realized "topic source" isn't the source that has related content to the topic.
There are many fine things on your page. In my opinion, a few things can be better:
A COLLABORATIVE ... TOOLis not connected with the signup box right below (which is a newsletter). They should be the same thingI really like the simple, consistent design!
I appreciate the feedback! I agree with all your points. "Topic Sources" isn't the right word and I need to find a better one. Thanks for the layout suggestions as well.
