Landing Page finally Ready. All Feedback Welcome!

Hey 👋 I'm working on a new SaaS product right now. I just got the landing page ready to go. Would love to hear some feedback about anything and everything! The site is https://www.boei.help

  • Do you understand what it will do?
  • Is it interesting?
  • Would you use it?
  • UX/Design/Copy feedback is great too!

Whatever you got, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

    Looks good!

    • Do you understand what it will do?
Yes, but it took me a while to get it.

    • Is it interesting?
Personally, I don't see the value. It's essentially a button that has a few links when opened. I'm not convinced that having links inside a floating button is valuable to my site. Unless it does something extra, like being able to trigger based on who visits the page, what pages they visit, if you can set timed triggers etc. But from the look of your page, it doesn't do that.

    • Would you use it?
    No.

    • UX/Design/Copy feedback is great too!

    1. I don't think the grey helper texts are necessary. Instead I would focus on sharpening the copy of the heading and sub-heading. My advice would be to make the heading explain more about what the product does and less about what (perceived) value it gives. I know this goes against what other copy writers suggest, so take this advice with a grain of salt. To me though, a heading like "A floating button that lets your customers select their own point of contact" would have made more sense. Then you could add something about how it might help convert visitors to customers in the sub-heading. I would have understood what the product does faster if that was the case.
    2. I would bulk together the two problems you have into 1: "Not all visitors want to chat so they leave your site without converting".
    3. No need to write 'Demo at the right bottom". It's already very obvious from the arrow.
    4. I don't think it's necessary to communicate why you chose the name you did. At least not on the landing page. It's supposed to sell the product. Maybe you could move it into the footer section to keep the personal touch.
    5. I would like to know what the product does in more detail. Can you set triggers for auto-opening the button? How many links can it have? Can you customize the color and position? If no, then I suggest you make a section on your page that explains what features you have planned and are working on. I wouldn't pay for your product today, but I might if I knew you were actively working on adding features to it, that I would find useful in the future.
    6. Run an accessibility audit with DevTools Lighthouse and fix any reported issues. I'm working on an EdTech tool, accessibility is essential to our customers, so we can't use anything that doesn't follow a11y guidelines.

Good luck with your project, I hope this helps!

If anyone's interesting, w also just posted our new landing page for feedback here: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/landing-page-feedback-for-web-app-notification-product-137ceae79c

      He Simon,
Just wanted to let you know that your feedback around the features and triggering messages has now been implemented :)
      Next step is the a11y

    2. 1

Just implemented a number of fixes from the a11y project mainly for SVG.
DevTools Lighthouse is not providing additional points for the Boei button to me. @simonlind, do you have any recommendations to add?

      1. 1

Nice to see you're tackling a11y! You're currently using a <div> for the button. You should either change it to a <button> element or give it role="button". That should make it focusable by keyboard. Make sure to keep a focus ring, so it's easy to see what element is focused. Then you gotta make sure that you're able to navigate within the popup by keyboard as well.

        1. 1

@simonlind Just checking in, do you think there is anything more needed for people with disabilities? It is quite difficult to test for me without much experience in the field

          1. 1

You're off to a good start! There's probably a few other things you can improve. You can download the axe chrome plugin if you want to find more things you can improve in terms of a11y.

            1. 1

Cool thanks will look into that also!

        2. 1

Thanks for this guidance! I have been able to change the divs into buttons and now the tabbing also seems to work well.
Any more changes needed to name it a11y proof?

      Thanks for your awesome review!

1+2. Good points on improving the copy, I will let them sink in and adjust.
      3. Agree, just removed that.
      4. Yeah can understand, moved that part to the bottom now.
      5. Good points, I will add this to my site. To answer now:

      • Can you set triggers for auto-opening the button? => Not at the moment, but good idea.
      • How many links can it have? => virtually unlimited, but at some moment it doesn't look nice anymore
      • Can you customise the color and position? => Yes, you can adjust the color to any HEX code.
I will definitely be adding new features and such and will base this on customer feedback.
      1. Never heard of this, but I think this is making sense. Will look into this.

the pricing seems weird regarding "one night stand... wedding"

    1. 1

Haha I thought it was funny? Just going outside of the regular boring "startup" , "growth" etc

      1. 1

Yeah I guess it depends on your users/context of site, I didn't think your site was about hooking up/weddings so I was kind of like "what" but I guess if it's working then nvm.

It's a nice execution and nice demo @Ruben88

Do you understand what it will do?

    Yes, understand and clear

    Is it interesting?

I would say 7 out of 10, only because I can think of alternatives

    Would you use it?

Would love to give a free, I'm afraid 3-day is not enough to see a significant result

    UX/Design/Copy feedback is great too!

Great and neat color contrast. I'm not familiar with your currency, would you consider to make it more universal?

I'm also in the process of upgrading my site to the next version, would love to hear your advice!

My review for your site :)

      Site looks cool!
Couple of things that I noticed:

      • The site is about designing and awesome presentations. Now your site is completely black and white at the top. Would recom to move the presentations more above.
      • You have some nice company logo's but I don't know why. Have they used your software?
      • Get Free Demo - Nice but what do I get? Is it a plugin or can I upload my presentation on your website? Why is it a demo while the pack is free?
      • The what's inside: would not start with text page, because that is not a benefit ;) Also Vector icon? What is that? Would recommend to work with a couple of examples first
      • I think you need to immediately impress people why they use/get your product. There are a lot of templates and such available.

The design looks neat and cool! I like it.
Would not use it myself because I work at a consultancy so basically I create slides for a job haha

Cool thanks for your answers 💪
      Couple of points:

      • Can understand that 3 days trial is not enough, but I thought that the (low) price point would allow people to give it a try. Will change it to 7 days.
      • Note that currently my payment provider is not able to handle the payments, so when you sign up you can extend the trial period to 14 days :)
      • Currency: It's USD, but I see that I don't mention that... 🤔 Will add that.
Will post a review on your site soon!

Hey! I like the "Demo Here" with the arrow. It was really clear what you're offering when I clicked on it.
It looks like it's a button I can add to my site that works kind of like a dropdown? Like a navigation I can go to other services?

Would I use it? To be blunt, no. This seems kind of like a jquery plugin I would have gotten for free a few years ago. I'm a developer, so maybe I'm not your market, but I would just build this on my own if I needed something like it. Maybe if it was a wordpress plugin it would be a little more attractive? I feel like wordpress users are usually not developers, and this would fit well with the plug n play nature of wordpress I think.

HelloBar is a similar thing that could be added fairly easily by a competent dev, but they seem to have done well. So maybe something to look at. I think something the HelloBar has going for it is they can point at increased conversions and money for the business that is using it. I don't know that your product plays directly to sales for me. If it does, maybe can you call that out a little more?

As far as design go I think the "get started" button is a little close to log in. A little more breathing room there would help!

I'm not a fan of the emoji use. It looks not professional IMO. Some icons instead maybe? Or maybe just ditch them altogether.

When I hover some of the actions in the boei button (or the button itself) they blur a bit. So I see you have "integrations" right now. Why not jsut allow everything? These are just links right? As long as someone has a link to something they should be able to include it right?

The dictionary definition of boei doesn't really do anything for me. I wouldn't know how to pronounce this (which may be an important issue to address) but even the definition doesn't help with pronunciation. Even if it did, I don't know that that's most important and something you should have on your landing page at all.

    Anyways just some thoughts!

Hej. Thanks for you feedback, good insights!

Good idea to look at HelloBar and Wordpress.

As being a developer, you can probably build anything that you want ;) But while the button looks simple (that is the idea), there is still a lot that one needs to take into account when building it.

For the get started, emoji, defintion, and blur - thanks will look into these!

For the integrations, I do allow for everything using a link. A couple of the items are links indeed. But for these, I want to help people. I don't want people to have to search for the link to start a WhatsApp chat. And also, Intercom and Crisp integrations are certainly not just links.

Thanks for your ideas, think that both make sense. Will look into this :)
