Landing page for the audience side of 3-sided marketplace: ads

I made a landing page for publishers in what will be a 3-sided marketplace. But I think I will be reaching out to individual publishers/site owners, and so the landing page will become a set of emails in the publisher case. I'm looking for any thoughts on the landing page for the audience:

I'm sorry to say I don't have any great insights here. However, I love love love this idea. I hope you can figure it out!

Hey, I know there's a challenging chicken-versus-egg situation with any marketplace, so I hope this feedback isn't totally useless 😁

    • It would be helpful to know more about which communities I'll be helping - do I get to choose? Or is it just a list? Either way, which ones?
    • A screenshot of what the sponsored content looks like would help me decide whether I'm interested
    • How will you measure the "few minutes a day"? Do I need to visit a site and log in, or do you track email opens?

Thanks for the feedback, it's dead on, and very much tied in to the chicken-vs-egg. I've just updated the landing page so that it addresses some of this:

      • I've put up a couple of communities to start with and actively adding more - the reason it wasn't there was chicken v egg - I needed to put up something to start talking to community owners (I think I can sort of say this has turned out to be the right side to start with)
      • The sponsored content is going to be short pieces of content from sponsors sent out in a daily (probably weekly to start with) email. Again a bit of a chicken-and-egg here, actively working on trying to put together some sponsors, and what sponsored content looks like
      • As the chicken grows and the egg hatches (or whatever the phrase is with this metaphor ;)), I do plan to slowly move from an email to a feed of sponsored content - again, very much a chicken and egg of building the network and having enough inventory

Probably clear but very much at ground zero here, and looking for any thoughts on how I might approach any side of this market

Nice, this is solid progress. I signed up.

        Top questions are now:

        • What does the content look like? What am I subscribing to?

(Once I've received a couple newsletters I'll happily share suggestions on how to communicate this on the LP)

        • How am I helping these communities? How much am I helping?

(Something like "Your subscription allows one community to provide 2 free Slack accounts to users like you")

LMK how it goes with the sponsors! I'm a member of #measure Slack and tbh I have no idea how they pay the bills. But would def want to help out if I knew an easy way 👍

          Thanks for signing up!

Still working on signing up communities and sponsors so I can be in a place to answer these questions. Unfortunately, at the moment, it's a vague notion in my head of what sponsored content looks like. I am not planning on doing anything too surprising here: it'll likely be something like a sponsored post on Twitter but the key benefit would be that it'll be personalized based on your explicit selections. Some have suggested they might be interested in choosing specific types of content, more than choosing topics of content - for example, choose to receive deals only.

I did some iteration on the landing page again, and perhaps it answers the question around how you would be helping the communities, and how much. It's meant to be similar to Patreon, where there are different tiers, with benefits. The benefits are up to the community organizers but I think what makes most sense are benefits that also help in driving engagement on the community itself. For example, participate in exclusive community events that in turn drive further engagement. Or receive discounts on community merchandise. That type of thing.

Should have a few more communities up soon, and working with a couple to setup some plans. I hadn't heard of #Measure before - thanks for making me aware of it, I reached out to the organizer to see if I could list them.

Nice! I do think there's a real problem to be solved here - community organizers who don't have the time or motivation to monetize, but who have Slack or hosting fees to pay ..

LMK if I can help, looking forward to hearing more on the list.
