Landing page of Yoop: anything's missing?

Hello!

I have improved the landing page of the project yoop.blog with more information : https://yoop.blog

I'd like to know if you find my value proposition clear enough?
Do you think something is missing in the understanding of the service?

On the other hand I've created the "yoop" account on yoop.blog itself : https://yoop.blog/yoop (#inception) ;)

I'll be happy to get your thoughts and to know if this homepage makes you want to try the product.

Thanks in advance :)

    Hey @loicm,

I've been keeping tabs on your progress. I like the new improvements you made to the landing page. You're on a good track :)

Really cool idea and great landing page! A few comments

    1. Your sub-headline can be punchier. Maybe " A different blogging experience. Replace cluttered admin interfaces with your favorite email client."

    2. Add FAQs:

    • Can I publish on my own domain?
    • Do I get a consistent domain if not?
    • Price?

      @bs_tales Hey thank you!

For 1. I have updated it by mixing my last update with you "punchier" idea. I find it better than before. What about you?

      1. Yeah, sure. I was thinking about this kind of FAQ section, or just a Features one which is missing right now! It's the next thing to add to this homepage.

      Thank you!

Hey @loicm! I like the concept, I think it could be super useful for people that want to experience and test the water regarding posting online content. The landing page looks clean. Only comment is about the green box where you have " Give a try! Send an email to demo@yoop.blog and see it published! " is not aligned with the rest of the website (idk if it's on purpose or not) and doesn't really fit with the symmetry of the website. I would suggest to add keywords at the top like: "Publish at lightening speed", "Publishing accessible in few clicks"... to help users to better understand the value of your product. I also love your privacy policy, I believe respecting users privacy will become more and more important in the future. Best of luck with your product!

      Hi @Trafalgar!

The green box was volontary rotated but not enough. It was not clear if it was an error or not. Now I've improved this section by increasing the rotation angle and reduce the width. It's much better I think.

Still thinking about my catch-phrase (which has been updated since your comment), but still improving it when I find about a better idea :)

So great to see how it has evolved since the first launch! Building in public is really helpful.

About Privacy, yeah, it's very important to me. I'm not making it the 1st reasons for choosing my platform, but it will stay because I deeply believe in it.

      Thanks!

    It's an interesting concept.

I don't think I'm your target audience since I prefer a ton of customizations. Although I can see how this can appeal to the no-code audience.

I debated early on how to build my blog. Ultimately I went with a no-code service https://super.so/. My blog is not live yet, but it's pretty neat what you can accomplish with super.so. It has the right amount of no-code features and customization.

As for the email feature, it's interesting, but I'm skeptical at first pass. What if I have to edit, How does this really work? What if I want to delete the article. The landing page doesn't give me assurance that it's flexible for all basic needs, although I'm sure there's a way that you've incorporated them.

Also, few more complex blog article examples would help. With various types of formatting, images, etc

      Thank you Miguel!

You're right that the service is not for everyone's needs. I know lots of people likes to have more features, more control, etc.

I think there might have some place for simple needs. For those that not only don't want to code, but neither don't want to setup stuff in "no-code" mode. Just having an account in seconds an publish from everywhere by sending an email.

At the moment the service is in "live building mode" and not all features are ready yet. It will have edit, delete, images/sounds/videos management. And some more.

The purpose is to manage to simplify every tasks and the work is in progress :)

I take note about more complex blog posts examples. Sure I should work on that! For your information it already deals with markdown formatting and you can try it live by sending an email to demo@yoop.blog (result is there: https://yoop.blog/demo)

      Thanks again!

Cool! This seems super simple. I have two questions:

    1. What makes this different from Notion blogging platforms or even bloat.im for example?
    2. English-wise I am pretty sure it's supposed to be ethical, but you can check that with grammerly :) Also: why is ethical relevant for bloggers specifically? Do you have data to back this copy's relevance up?

Congrats again and looking forward to a deeper chat!

    Cheers.

      Thanks Julian!

Note that since my post, I've updated again the homepage with what I think is a better catch phrase and subtitle. Making the purpose of the application way easier to understand.

There is now a demo blog feature :)

      About your questions:

      1. Notion is a more complex platform where among many features you can create a blog, while blot.im allows you to have a website but you need a text editor and to setup a dropbox account. I want to only provide a blogging platform which focuses on publishing by sending emails. No editor interface at all. It's a search for less.

      2. There was something weird about that "ethic" word. I was not pleased with it too. So I took another approach by talking about "privacy". I think it better reflects what I had in mind. Is it better for you too?

        Hey @loicm,

Cool idea! This appeals to me because it makes blogging more conversational.

        Here are some suggestions:

        1. Add clarity and a reason why to the Headline.
Example: Take the pressure out of blogging. Publish blog posts easily through email.

        2. Use the Subhead to get specific on the value you are providing.
Example: Frustrated with overcomplicated interfaces? Yoop makes publishing blog posts as easy as sending an email to a friend.

        3. Add some bullets.
          Example:

        • Eliminate writers block with a more conversational way of publishing
        • Save time fidgeting with unneeded features
        • Conveniently publish content from your phone while on the go
        1. Add a demonstration video. Visitors will benefit from being able to see the idea in action. (You can have one made for cheap on fiverr)

        I hope I've been helpful :)

Thank you for building such a cool tool!

        1. 2

Would completely agree with all these points- As when I first landed on the page I was at a bit of a loss as to how it all works. So bullets, clearer copy and a demo are all great recommendations

        2. 2

          @SweaterHacker thanks for your suggestions!

For 1. and 2. I've made a super recent update which enhance what I had done before but I still can be improved. I keep your ideas in mind!

          1. You're right, this kind of information is missing. I'm going to add something.

          2. I don't know if it is necessary (maybe yes…) because I have the easiest way for testing with the demo account, and the "How it works" section. But if it's not video, maybe some nice screenshots could improve the understanding. I keep the idea too :)

You've been very helpful, thank you!

Hey! Thanks so much for your in depth reply and apologies for my late response. Great with axing ethical. I think privacy makes more sense and awesome to see your iterations on the landing page!

I think your product stands a bit more clearly. I would see it as more of a direct competitor to substack or ghost if the focus is on blog publishing and emails. Have you done a competitive landscape yet? Or am I just wrong in this observation?

I think understand who your direct and indirect competitors are will really help you stand out from the crowd with clear differentiators. I usually do 2 different ones with my product HUSTLE OS:
👓 Competitive Analysis: direct brands (in the same niche), indirect brands ,similar offering, different niche.
🕶 Perceptual Analysis: a customer perception of your brand amongst many, even unrelated brands.

        Cheers.

          Hi @itsjulianpaul,

Thanks for the compliments about the iterations of the landing page :)

To be honest for the moment I don't look that much to competitors.
My will was to start a landing page that means something (It's far from good but it's now not that bad), then to implements the basics features.

Doing all that while getting some beta users and starting communicating publicly about the project.

But I like your point of view about competitors and I will work on defining who they are and how to differenciate.

          Thanks for your advises!

Thanks a lot for all the feedbacks!

Last iteration of the landing page is online: https://yoop.blog So much better than last week!

    Thanks again :)
