Launch date affected by Corona virus

Well, after working hard to launch my gifting app we are in this corona virus situation that clearly affects my business.

The idea is simple, you can gift coffee, cake and more through the app and your friends can redeem the gift in partner coffee shops for real products...

The only thing that comes to my mind (even if I don't like it) is to postpone the launch date until this situation is solved.

I would really appreciate some suggestions in regards to what to do next, if there is a better option than just postpone the launch date cause after all we don't know how long it takes ...

Thank you. I hope this will not last until the end of the year.

This whole coronavirus stuff could last a long time. And the ability to gift people things at this time might actually go down well?

Thank you!Indeed sending some gifts in this period would go well but since the coffee shops are closed or will get closed soon people will not be able to redeem the gifts until it's safe and anyway people are not getting out from the houses too much these days.

I recently read an article suggesting buying gift cards from local restaurants to help them AVOID going out of business.

Thank you, this is an interesting idea I thought about it in a way but not in this manner.I will see with my partners.

I feel you, and I think this is crazy. People are probably not visiting coffee shops right now, so I can see how this completely affects your idea. I'm sorry, man.

May be there's a way to change this to delivery based gifts, e.g sending a gift to someone else in quarantine? Or doing deliveries of weekly groceries / supplies? (Man I wish someone would build this right now).

I'm personally using this time to learn machine learning, rather than building out new projects.

Thank you, I think it will be complicated for me to launch a delivery service in this period, I will prepare for better days.

Well, if it was easy, it wouldn't be a great idea! ;)

Are your partners closed down? Are they no longer able to supply the gifts? If that's the case then I'd say ride it out and use the time to develop/polish your product. Otherwise what other concerns are you facing? Life still needs to go on to some degree... Do you have running costs you won't be able to cover?

Thank you, they are not closed... yet, but anyway people are not going out too much these days. I think I will polish my project in this period and prepare for better days.
