Launch product, but is not shown on Product Hunt homepage? Is this new algorithm?

They've mentioned in their live chat they they "do not manually curate" anymore and "the algorithm handles all curation."

A bit odd. Nucode.co wasn't featured for me until late afternoon, so all the upvotes it got were mainly from members.

My other project basisdata.co was also hidden.

When you search for a keyword though, it's odd that they'd hide non-featured items. Like when you search Basis Data, we still don't show up unless you click the "show all products" filter. This doesn't seem to be very transparent.

Once my Product was forcibly hidden on the "launch" day and posted on the main page only the next day.

It's curated by the PH team, cos they can't show everything or the site will be full of crappy things..it's a shame when a good product is missed though - for example, i posted this one that didn't get any notice, and it's really a good product: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/project-co

Be sure to reach out to the team via their chat. Sometimes you miss some early traction on the product post and it can make all the difference. First time I posted it got drowned immediately; I asked a week or so later for another shot and it became #1 of the day. If it is a good product, I am sure the let you re-post.

A lot of talk about being featured here. Featuring is not gaurenteed and should not be expected either as you may be dissapointed then.

We get tons of products submitted every day and it's simply not possible for every single one to make it to the home page

Upvotes don't decide this on their own, it's a plethora of different factors which make up an overall engagement ranking (upvotes are far too easy to exploit, so they have less importance)

We simply cannot show every product listed on product hunt that are both in the popular tab and in the /newest tab it would be a mess and far too much data

Try emailing PH team, they're quite quick with response.

In my last experience, our product (https://www.sprynkl.io/) was hunted after we got featured on Betapage, so it got to the front page -> maybe get other hunters to hunt your product

HackerNews and Betalist are also a great place to launch with thousands visitors every month.
Also, you can choose sub reddit that is relevant for your product. If you have budget, submitting for app review is also a good option
