Hey folks,
For the last six months, I've been working on a free tool that could be useful for all the SaaS bootstrappers and product marketers in this fantastic community.
This is a collection of techniques that cut down SaaS churn, neatly prioritized and organized by stages of a customer lifecycle (AARRR funnel).
Each of the strategies has all the implementation details, including examples, best-practices, common mistakes, research evidence, and additional reading materials.
Could this become a source of growth experiment ideas for you?
Here’s the collection, no sign-up required: https://foundkit.com
Great collection. One type of churn that often gets overlooked in these lists: involuntary churn from payment failures. Industry data shows 5-9% of subscription charges fail at any given time (expired cards, bank declines, etc.) — and most of those customers still want the product.
Unlike voluntary churn, there's no product problem to fix. You just need to contact them quickly with a card update link before the dunning period ends. A D+1/D+3/D+7 email sequence typically recovers 20-40% of those failures.
Worth adding to the list as a separate category — it's the easiest churn to recover because the intent to stay is still there.
Thanks for taking your time doing that, I'm reading the acquisition part and so far liking it.
@GiancarlloRojas Giancarllo, hit me up if you see any inconsistencies or if you just have some general feedback, I'd be happy to look into that.
Thank you @stanpry for building a very useful resource. I love how it lays out how to use techniques and what mistakes to avoid.
@tholloday Troy, thank you for your warm feedback :) Let me know if you see how it could be improved.
Love the site ;)
I created https://saaspages.xyz/, free tools that provide a ton of value are the way forward!
@volkandkaya Volkan, thanks a lot! I saw your project on Product Hunt, it's insanely useful as well :)
