Launched a free resource to help you verify your subscription metrics!

We just launched a free Revenue Metrics export for subscription businesses running on Stripe. This Excel export includes:
- A sample of your current revenue metrics, including MRR, ARPU, and more
- Customization options to control which coupons are included in your metrics
- Applied Excel formulas which demonstrate exactly how we calculated each metric
- A copy of your Stripe subscription data color-coded by subscription status
Our goal with this export is to provide absolute transparency into how we calculate your metrics and allow you to verify that the numbers we show are accurate for your business. If you notice anything that seems off, hopefully you’ll be able to identify why the numbers we show are different than what you would expect.
You can also think of this export as a base template for your revenue metrics. You can edit it however you like to fit your business’ billing model and needs :)

Why did we build this tool?
In the last few months, we’ve seen many SaaS founders and a few of our users mention that various subscription analytics tools all report different numbers for incredibly important metrics such as MRR. Some of our users even reported that they saw a 20% difference in their numbers across apps! They told us they felt frustrated and often resorted to calculating their metrics manually.
We realized that the lack of transparency and control when it came to revenue reporting was a significant pain point for our users. We immediately began working with them on resolving this issue and recently pushed out an Excel export which outlines exactly how we calculate their metrics based on all their Stripe subscription data.
While working on this export for our premium users, my co-founder Amy (@asitwala) and I thought, “Hey, wouldn’t this export be useful for a lot of Indie Hackers, SaaS founders, and subscription businesses in general?”
Many of you may want to:
- Understand and see a full breakdown of your metrics
- Learn how to calculate your metrics if multiple apps are reporting different numbers / directly from your Stripe data
We also thought it could be one way to give back to the community, given Covid-19 and everything going on in the world right now. We understand that many businesses may not be in the position to purchase subscription management tools and might be reporting numbers on their own.
