Launched a shipping disruption intelligence platform during the Hormuz crisis

Hey IH community,

Launched https://ww3tools.com this week — a platform tracking how geopolitical events impact global shipping and supply chains.

The problem:
The Strait of Hormuz (21M barrels/day) is seeing 94% reduced traffic. Companies are scrambling to understand their exposure but there's no centralized tool to calculate impacts.

What I built:
• Hormuz Shipping Calculator — estimates rerouting costs, insurance impacts, delays
• Live Disruption Tracker — real-time monitoring of Hormuz, Red Sea, Suez
• Impact Simulator — models scenarios (what if Hormuz closes completely?)
• Chokepoint Monitor — tracks all 5 critical maritime chokepoints

Stack:

  • Frontend: Next.js + Tailwind
  • Data: MarineTraffic API, Clearview Energy, Lloyd's of London
  • Hosting: Vercel

Looking for:

  • Feedback from anyone in supply chain/logistics
  • Feature requests
  • Partnership opportunities

Check it out: https://ww3tools.com

Thanks!
