Launched Adjourn

https://www.adjourn.io/

Hi There,

I just found IndieHackers not too long ago and I've been enjoying reading everyone's posts. I thought I'd share my own side project that I launched not too long ago on ProductHunt.

Adjourn
My side project is called Adjourn and it's a meeting minutes app that aims to make meetings easy to organize and share. I started building it when I transitioned to a project management role and started attending a lot of meetings I needed to keep track of.

I would very much appreciate any feedback or thoughts on it, especially the marketing site as that's not my forte at all!

Thank you

Heyy! congratulations for your side project :D

1- I always liked big images but, try to make them a bit smaller.
2- Try using a bigger text
3- don't use a border between sections. The change of background-color is enough to make a visual separation
4- Give more vertical padding (internal space) to each section

Again, congratulations for you project :D

      Hi @devictoribero,

Thank you for your congratulations and tips on the marketing page! I'll add them to my list and update it! :)

    Here we go:

    • Too many screenshots and text that is on the wrong side (read about the Z pattern for landing pages to get an idea of what I mean)
    • The copy of the landing page - especially the header - doesn't give me a sense of the benefit of using your tool over say google docs.
    • I feel like the text that you read for your video would fit much better on your landing page than what you wrote

      Hi @orliesaurus,

      Thank you for your tips!

      • Too many screenshots and text that is on the wrong side
Regarding the screenshots, one of the values of Adjourn, in my opinion, is how it looks and lets you organize data so I figured that the best way to do that is with screenshots but I can definitely see where you're coming from with there being too many.

I think I can remove a few of the less "important" screenshots, leaving just the three main screenshots (meeting detail screen, sidebar gif, and meeting email screenshot) as those are kind of the main value propositions of Adjourn. What do you think? :)

I read up a bit on the Z pattern. So I guess the idea is that all my content is basically centered and I should have moving in a Z pattern so it's more in line with how readers tend to read webpages, correct? :)

      • Your last two points
I think these are good points. I was trying to keep the text as short as possible but I agree and it's something that's been bothering me that I don't think the copy is anywhere near as good as it could be. I'll work on it!

      Thanks again for your suggestions!
