Hey Indie Hackers 👋
I recently launched Smart Cash Sheet, a product that tracks money and emotions in the same place. That idea came from years of watching capable people struggle not because they were bad with money, but because they couldn’t see how timing, stress, and decisions compounded over time.
This started as a spreadsheet during the 2009 recession and lived in Excel for a long time before becoming a product. What surprised me most wasn’t the build — it was what users reacted to after launch.
A few early lessons:
People care more about what’s coming than perfectly categorized history
Emotional context explains behavior faster than rules or reminders
Reducing surprise lowers stress more than adding controls
Saying “no” to features was harder than building them
The launch itself has been quiet — no spike, no viral moment — just slow, steady learning. Shipping felt easier than getting noticed.
I’d really value input from other founders:
How did you know your product truly landed?
What signals mattered most in the first few weeks?
Anything you wish you’d done differently right after launch?
Appreciate this community — learning a lot just by being here.
