So I launched on PH yesterday and had emailed the 53 early adopters the day before to try the product out and in return for being early adopters once they signup I will upgrade their accounts to the paid version.
PH launch was scheduled and went live my 5pm and was just shocked on how quickly the upvotes started to come. I got almost 8-10 people reach out via Linkedin for a paid collab which was abit disappointing knowing others can easily use this to show their products higher on the leaderboard. Please upvote if you haven't as this is the only thing I can ask haha dont have $$ to pay to these influencers
I ended up at #7. You can checkout my launch here: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/promptperf

So I figured since I launched on Friday, theres was less competition as everyone is rushing for a Monday launch so they can get the top weekly feature.
I then woke up the next day and didnt even bother checking stripe. I saw 19 users and eventually 26 as of writing this post but after lunch I decided to download the stripe app on my phone and I launch the app to $$. I just was so confused so open my laptop. I kept refreshing the DB and Stripe multiple times to see if its the test account or some glitch. It wasn't I made $$ from something I built.

big W mate. i never used stripe so im still confused is it 74 or 218??
so I had done 2 payments from the PROD to test as I had a bug on PROD. that wasn't today. But after the button went live it the payment was made. Therefore it shows 74 Today and 218 is the total so far. (But thats including 2x74ish - cz of usd conversion - of my payments done to test the PROD account)
got it! that's a big W mate any new signups?? how its going with the PH launch
got to 30 now. I ended with 127 followers on PH with 160 upvotes so pretty strong response. Just need to figure out a way to get feedback from users.
i can help you on that (not charging) just put a dialog box and connect it to firebase quick setup within 15 mins and ask for feedback once they open the app or just mail them with a nice templet try to get all of them in a meeting call and talk about it
Im thinking to integrate https://www.feedbask.com/ its $0 and allows 20 responses per month. Just keep it minimal and avoids the maintenance on my end.
Congrats Harshil, this is huge, Landing #7, real signups, and your first $$, that’s the dream. Wishing you even more momentum from here!
Thanks mate, Im just struggling to get users to use the app. Got nearly 40 signups now but I guess asking them to add their API Key is where I lose them and they dont come back. Need a way to showcase how the app works so can retain and perhaps get them to buy the tool.
Congratulations on new beginnings.
Thanks mate. Does feel weird knowing someone actually clicked the buy button
Congratulations mate this is so inspirational 👏
:) Thanks. I honestly didn't think anyone would be interested but I guess Friday launch on PH gave me an edge as there was less competition
Congrats
Cheers mate.
Congrats! Getting your first paying customers is a huge milestone.
I'm curious how you went about building you pricing page - it looks nice and probably helped with your conversions. Did you use an existing tool or make it from scratch?
Agreed. After the first paying customer I felt relaxed knowing every aspect of the app works as the payment button on PROD was to be tested haha.
For the pricing page I pretty much used AI for the UI inspiration. shadcn UI is also really good for simple UI https://ui.shadcn.com/
Gotcha. What made you decide on shadcn vs using Stripe's pricing table or a different no code option?
I mean it worked so just left it. Didnt even check the stripe pricing table I just used their API docs to create a product and just continue. I had to do a pricing table from code as I was working on the codebase so just to see the pricing page and all and did this before even connecting stripe
Massive, earning $$ from your own product is a big win... congrats... more to come
I am currently building mine and yeah, I have upvoted
Thanks mate. Ohh interesting. Do let me know what you're building and when you launch.
Sure. I am building an AI-powered software that enables independent insurance agents to draft insurance claim reports faster.
I do not know how to validate the idea first, I just started building this last week and my plan is to launch by June ending or earlier. Someone said to me, 'build it, even if you fail, you have learnt how to build a product'
I am new here, havent fully understand the navigations. is it possible to follow you here or you have a preferred social I can follow you in?
Hi Harshil, Congratulations on your successful Product Hunt launch and reaching #7 a significant achievement! It’s impressive to see how quickly you gained traction, with 26 new signups and your first revenue coming in. Your strategy of engaging early adopters and offering them incentives for feedback seems to have worked well. The decision to launch on a Friday to avoid the typical Monday rush was a smart move, and it’s great to see how timing can have a tangible impact on visibility.I’m curious about how you plan to maintain user engagement moving forward. Do you have any strategies in place to ensure retention and continued feedback as your product evolves?
I look forward to seeing PromptPerf grow and wish you continued success as you scale!
