I’ve always loved languages. Growing up in Europe and then spending years in software engineering meant I was constantly around people from different countries and cultures, and I really grew to appreciate that. But my actual language learning never quite kept up.
So I’m in this slightly weird place where I can often recognise patterns, structures, familiar words, the general feeling of a language, but I’m not really fluent in much.
That’s why as soon as I started playing with the concept, 🌍 Foreign Trivia: Foreign Five (https://trivia.lmny.dev) clicked for me. It mixes general knowledge with that kind of language intuition. You’re not always fully translating, sometimes you’re just reasoning your way through the shape of the sentence.
The Wordle-style daily puzzle and theme stuff came later, but I think it fits nicely. One small thing a day, not homework.
