Launched my community sponsorship marketplace today!

After building an online community myself (www.propel.run) and having dozens of conversations with community builders (many thanks to IH!), I've realized what many of you already know - building a strong community is hard, but building a community business can be even harder. Making even a little bit of money can help community leaders defray their costs and start to build a sustainable business.

At the same time, I've heard from many of my friends that work at companies big and small that they'd love to reach members of online communities, but they can't find the right ones.

So, I decided to build Sponsor My Community, a marketplace for community sponsorships (obvious names are my specialty - see my newsletter onejob).

If you’re a community leader looking for a (values-aligned) sponsor, submit your information and we’ll find you a great sponsor match. We already have a bunch of companies that are eager to sponsor your community and we’re accepting more on our website now!

We're not charging anything for now, but may decide to take a cut at some point. Obviously still a work in progress, but we wanted to start helping community builders as quickly as we could.
