Hey all!
So, I just recently started my first podcast and did minimal research beforehand because I know that I tend to spend a lot of time on preparation and post-production to perfect whatever I'm working on.
This is basically how I procrastinate and postpone (because I'm always very self-conscious about my own voice) to the point where production takes so long that I lose interest and give up.
So the best thing for me was to just get that first episode out almost as-is just to get past that first step, which I think has really helped because I'm genuinely excited about recording more episodes now, which is why I'm here!
Here's the podcast: https://andrewdavid.media/overgame
So far: I've done minimal audio work to remove background noise, equalize the voice, and add some light background music. Recorded on a Blue Yeti with no pop filter (I just got one for future recordings). Edited in Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere (for the video version).
What I'm looking for: Any general advice regarding production, equipment, scheduling, and workflow. When's the best time to release podcasts in your opinion? What type of equipment should I be using? Best ways to get guests on the podcast and what are your experiences with scheduling dates to record with them? Experience promoting your podcasts/where should I be sharing it? Any handy tips you've learned that make the production workflow more efficient?
Thank you!
The sound is good actually and I'm not a gamer, good work brother. I have the same problem - procrastinating and ya overthinking, like one of fellow Indie Hacker told me.
I too plan to do Podcast but more of interviews, more than me talking the guests would be talking. And this time I really don't want to think much and get it done. I don't yet have a mic and all that setup but your voice was clear and nice. I should probably buy a mic and ya get on it asap :).
Best wishes, keep on with the good work!
