Launched my first thing in awhile! A Google Docs to reStructuredText converter

I've been professionally launching applications and building teams for some time but yesterday I put the finishing touches on my very simple, but useful utility and launched it!

It's a niche product with no need to generate revenue and is part of a larger mission I have in mind -- the code I wrote and things I learned from this will help me in the next project!

I would be more than happy with any feedback on the landing page, but more importantly on the Google Docs -> reStructuredText parser :)

What I learned in a nut shell:

  • After not writing serious code for a couple years, the first few days were rough. I felt like I forgot everything, but it began to come back.

  • Just like anything else, try working every day but balance so you don't burn out. I focused on putting in 1-2 hours a night each week night and used weekends to fully recharge. That was all the time I had as a busy parent working full time but it allowed me to get to release.

  • Release even if you're not happy with the result. The parser I built needs work but it works with the base criteria (MVP!) I was aiming for. I will continue to iterate on it especially with community feedback.

  • I am terrible at CSS/Design but there's so many good resources :)

And finally, here's my service:
