Launched my iOS app for resellers – here's what I built and why

Hey IH 👋

Just shipped Underpriced AI to the App Store. It's an AI tool that helps resellers (thrift flippers, eBay sellers, estate sale hunters) identify items and get instant valuations from photos.

The problem:
Resellers spend hours researching items. You're at a thrift store holding a piece of pottery—is it a $3 garage sale item or a $200 collectible? Most people either pass on good items or buy junk because they can't research fast enough.

The solution:
Snap a photo → AI identifies the item (brand, maker, era, etc.) → pulls comparable sales → gives you a price range. If you want to list it, it generates an optimized title and description for eBay/Etsy.

Tech stack:

  • Next.js 16 + React 19
  • Claude API (Anthropic) for vision analysis
  • Postgres on Neon
  • Vercel for hosting
  • Capacitor for the iOS app

Business model:
Freemium. 10 free scans to try it, then $9-49/month depending on volume. Keeping it simple—all features available on all tiers, just different scan limits.

What's next:
Direct eBay/Etsy posting is partially working. Also considering adding a "is this worth buying?" quick mode for even faster decisions while sourcing.

Would love feedback from anyone in the reselling space or building AI products.

Why not come up with an original name instead of copying the Underpriced .App?

I had no idea your app existed, mine is actually trademarked.
