Today I launched QR Machine, a Chrome extension that generates up to 1000 QR codes from CSV files.
The project started as a simple QR generator but quickly grew into something much larger. Along the way I learned Chrome extension development, performance optimization, memory management, PDF generation, licensing, deployment, and product marketing.
Some features:
• Bulk QR generation from CSV files
• QR customization and logo support
• PDF, SVG, and ZIP exports
• Offline-first processing
One of the biggest challenges was optimizing memory usage when generating hundreds of QR codes at once.
This is my first product launch, and I'm looking forward to learning from user feedback and improving future versions.
Would love to hear any thoughts, feedback, or feature suggestions.
Congrats on the launch.
The thing I'd be careful with is that 250+ hours of development can make it easy to evaluate the product through the lens of features, performance, and implementation.
The market usually evaluates it through a much narrower lens.
That difference tends to matter sooner than most first-time founders expect.
I wouldn't try to make that decision casually in a thread.
That's a good point.
A lot of the development time went into technical challenges and optimization, but ultimately users will care much more about whether it solves a real problem and saves them time.
I'm treating this launch as an opportunity to learn exactly that and get feedback from actual users rather than relying on my own assumptions.
Thanks for the perspective.
