Just launched Queryra - semantic search API that understands what users mean, not just what they type.
Built it because keyword search kept failing my users. "laptop problem" should find "computer troubleshooting" - now it does.
Free tier available. Would love feedback from fellow indie hackers.

Congratulations on your launch. It looks impressive! What channels are you exploring to attract early users?
Thanks!
Main channels so far:
1. **Facebook groups** (WooCommerce/WordPress) - worked best, got 44 downloads in one day
2. **Reddit** r/WordpressPlugins - slow start but building karma first
3. **Worpress** - organic discovery, but hard to stand out among 60k plugins
Biggest challenge: downloads don't convert to signups. 114 downloads → 1 signup (0.9%). Either bots/mirrors downloading, or onboarding is broken.
What channels worked for you?
I’ve had good traction with the Facebook groups; 44 downloads in one day is impressive.
From my experience, Reddit can be effective for promoting WordPress plugins, but it’s essential to focus on the problem being solved and the use case instead of promoting the plugin directly. Posts framed as “How I solved X in WooCommerce” typically perform better than direct promotional links.
Regarding conversions, a drop-off often occurs due to onboarding friction or unclear value within the first minute, especially for plugins where users install them first and decide on their usefulness later.
If you’re interested, I’d be happy to share my approach to creating Reddit posts for plugins that test both traffic and signup intent, beyond just downloads.
That would be incredibly helpful! I'd love to learn your approach to Reddit posts that test signup intent.
You're spot on about onboarding friction. Looking at my numbers - 123 downloads, 0 activations - I think people just download "for later" and never actually install. They don't even get to the API key step.
Would you mind sharing your framework? Happy to chat here or DM.
That makes a lot of sense, and those numbers clearly tell a story. The phrase “Download now, install later” is quite common with plugins, especially when their value isn't immediately obvious within the first minute.
My framework focuses on two primary aspects of Reddit:
1. Framing posts around specific pain points related to WooCommerce and WordPress, so that users can self-qualify before downloading the plugin.
2. Targeting users who are more likely to activate and test the plugins rather than just collect them.
It’s easier to explain with examples and flow. If you’re open to it, feel free to reach out on WhatsApp, and we can discuss this in more detail: +1 365 782 8888. I’m happy to continue the conversation there.
