Launched SEARateGuide — a remittance comparison tool for Southeast Asia

Hi everyone,

I recently built SEARateGuide, a Southeast Asia remittance comparison tool.

The idea came from a simple problem: when people send money across Southeast Asia, the headline fee or exchange rate does not always tell the full story. What really matters is how much the recipient actually receives after fees, FX impact, payout method differences, and transfer speed.

SEARateGuide helps users compare:

• Estimated received amount

• Transfer fees

• FX impact

• Transfer speed

• Payout methods such as bank transfer, e-wallet, mobile wallet, and cash pickup

• Corridor-specific routes across Southeast Asia

The product is still early. It started as a simple comparison page and gradually expanded into corridor-specific pages, FAQ, methodology, data sources, disclaimer pages, and practical remittance guides.

I’m positioning it as an information-only comparison platform. SEARateGuide does not process transfers or hold user funds. Users should always confirm the final quote and availability on the provider’s official checkout page.

Right now, I’m focused on improving three things:

1. Making the comparison flow clearer

2. Expanding more Southeast Asia corridors

3. Improving SEO and AI visibility for remittance-related search queries
