Launched SoKal on Product Hunt today

Social calendar that shows when friends are free. Built it solo because I kept missing friends who were briefly in my city without knowing.

Stack: Rust/Axum backend, React Native, PostgreSQL + PostGIS, live on both app stores.

101 users, 32 WAU right now. Currently around #25 on PH.

Congrats on the launch! PH days are exciting but they reveal a gap most solopreneurs don't anticipate: you spend months building and the launch goes well, then you have no operational infrastructure to handle what comes next.

Who signed up? Which ones activated? Which ones are showing churn signals? Without a system to track that, the PH spike becomes a flat line by week 2 because you're reacting instead of following up.

The solopreneurs who convert PH traffic best usually have some kind of CRM + revenue dashboard set up before launch day - even a simple Notion-based one - so they're working the list while the momentum is still there. Best of luck with the hunt!

Building a social calendar in Rust/Axum is a serious technical flex for a "simple" friend-finder, James. Most founders would skip the performance overhead, but using PostGIS for location-aware availability shows you’re building for a world where "who is near me right now" is a real-time problem, not a static list.
I’m currently running Tokyo Lore, a project that highlights high-utility logic and solo builders who pick the right stack for the job. Since you’ve already hit 32 WAU and are navigating a live PH launch, entering SoKal could be the perfect way to turn that technical foundation into a winning case study while your odds are at their absolute peak.

Congrats on the launch! I'm curious, what was the hardest part of preparing for Product Hunt — getting the product ready, building the launch audience, or figuring out the messaging?
