🎉 Launched my first app today on PH —“Elissa - My Panic Ally” , to help people manage panic & anxiety. AI chat, Panic SOS, CBT based logger, DSM-5 based panic attack analysis cherry on top. Paused med school & taught myself dev to help loved ones who suffered alone. Would love your feedback!
Wow, that's really thoughtful of you. But I can't see the link to the app
Oh there seems to be an issue with the page. I can't add the link to the post
Here's the link: https://www.wisdominme.org/
Thanks for notifying me and your appreciation to my app!
It's live on Product Hunt now, so if you could join the conversation there, that'll make today more special to me!
I’ve dealt with PTSD/anxiety myself, and what helped me most was finding tools that are simple and accessible when symptoms hit.
I also saw significant improvement through IV ketamine therapy, but having something immediate like this can make a real difference day-to-day.
Curious , which feature are users finding most helpful so far?
I've a friend who got constant panic attacks, he doesnt know where it came from and how ir started.
Panic attacks are real and are hindering people. Will give this a try and share to my friend!
When we look around carefully, we can find a lot of our loved ones suffering from panic silently. I hope Elissa be by your friends side, and the panic attack analysis gives insight to his attack patterns.
He'll be able to identify frequent symptoms, triggers, explore thoughts and behaviors related to the attacks.
inspirational!
Thank you! I hope my journey contributes to IH community
This is so great! Congratulations! How long did the process of teaching yourself dev take? What language did you write the app in?
Thanks for your interest to my project!
I actually learned Java and Python for 2y prior to this project. I dedicated last 1y teaching myself and 2 months for intensive coding for Elissa.
My self-teaching was focused on Dart and Flutter mainly.
But since it's an AI project, I devoted myself learning ML/DL too.
You can check out the full story of my leaving med school and going full dev in my past post here! :

Love the hustle! Keep doing incredible stuff!
Your support is the fuel to keep going! Gotta keep hustling and someday I'll come back to you with an incredible story!
sounds like a great idea! must be a nice feeling to create something thats gonna have real positive effects on peoples lives. How long did the process take you?
Hey thanks! It took a year for teaching myself Dart and Flutter, ML/DL and 2 months of intensive coding for building the app!
Wow, I’m curious to know how it works. Is it like an AI agent?
About the AI part, simply put, it's like a conversation "companion"(I have to use this word specifically) that is specialized to deal with panic and anxiety.
I can't reveal the architecture , but if the AI were to be an agent to make diagnosis or replace treatment, it has to be approved by the FDA as an E-Drug, and has to pass local law of Department of Health of every nation that is targeted for app distribution.
BUT, going E-Drug and adding AI agents actually are in my plan. You can consider current version as the beginning of it :)
I understand, meaning that if the project grows, it might have to go through all that! It would mean that everyone wants it, but one step at a time haha! I hope it happens for you.
Do you have a background or personal experience in mental health?
I'm a student member of APA(American Psychiatric Association). And I've personally reached out renowned psychiatrists to learn psychotherapy. I have clinical experience as a PK(med term) in closed-ward and outpatient environment.
I have personal experience of having panic attacks back when I was preparing for University entrance exams. I "know the taste" of panic attacks and it helped me building Elissa to be honest. I knew where to start from, and what features to add.
All this background in psychiatry and personal experience helped me connect the dots!
The website's color scheme is excellent, looks warm and healing 👍
It's the first time I get appreciation about my website. Thank you!
I made sure that every aspect of my service (app/web) gives calm and comfortable feeling, and good to hear it works :)
Incredible! Good for you 👏
I experienced psychosis twice back in 2019 and I want to bring my passion for tech to helping others who are currently going through it. So, I’ve been wondering how I can build an app or tool to help with early intervention.
Big thanks!
To deal with psychosis in general, correct plan and dose of medication is essential. So for app to be practically helpful, it should make sure:
And then the next step would be dealing with, say, uncomfortable thoughts - that someone is watching me, trying to harm me for example. These thoughts should be redirected to the ones that don't hinder one's daily life.
So there will be these two big parts you can work on(medication/thoughts), and I can come up with projects from ones that require FDA approval to the ones that are just 'meh' like dose tracker or reminder.
Since you mentioned "early intervention", app that helps users getting "insight"(medical term) might be a big help.
Thank you all! Elissa is now officially Today's Top 10 Product on PH! Will share this story with you later :)
And I'm so honored to be on the main page of IH! I promise I'll give back to IH community with my experience of launching a product, growing my audience and more, just like other community contributors did!
Wow! 😍
Thanks for checking out! I hope Elissa helps people going through hard days with panic attacks
