Launched Truefold on the App Store

Today I launched https://truefold.app, a private ID and document vault for iPhone.

I built it to solve a problem I kept running into myself. Passport details, bank accounts, payment cards, travel documents, and family records had gradually become scattered across Drive, email, chats, downloads, and photos. Finding something became stressful precisely when I needed it.

My first idea was a web app. But many of these records are needed while traveling or in places where connectivity may be unreliable, so offline access had to be fundamental rather than an extra feature.

That led to a native, local-first iPhone app. Records remain available on the device, while encrypted data can sync through the user’s own iCloud account. There is no Truefold account, no advertising, and no tracking.

The hardest part was not producing screens. It was turning a personal tool into something coherent and polished enough for other people to trust with important information.

Truefold is currently free while I learn how people use it.

I would love feedback on the positioning: does “private, local-first document vault with iCloud sync” make the benefit clear, or does it still sound too technical?
