I have been working out at home and I noticed there's not a great app to time workouts. In particular, for workouts that have multiple parts like functional, crossfit, HIIT, you need to configure a different timer after each part is done. More so, because workouts usually don't specify how long you should rest between each block, you can't tell how long the entire workout will last. Lastly, sharing workouts is very common but usually athletes just send a text or e-mail with the details. The receiver then has to configure the timer all over again.
In WodBlocks (https://wodblocks.com), you setup the full workout by adding blocks, including active and rest periods. You can then have a comprehensive view and know how long the entire session will last. Further, you can share workouts with friends by simply sharing a link, which the receiver can click and it automatically opens the app with everything ready to go.
Cool concept. Can you incorporate popular lifting programs like 5x5, Bulgarian, etc., or provide templates? How will you monetize this?
I just released a new update that include preset blocks with standard workouts :D
Great stuff! Next step would be adding in image/videos to show the movements too?
That's a good idea, I don't have access to a library of image/videos. I think next would be a workout recommender, maybe you enter duration, equipment and/or what movements to include and it spits out a set of blocks
Thanks Hassan! Yup, that's next on my plate - I'm working on adding pre-defined blocks so you don't have to write it up yourself. Haven't thought about monetizing yet, right now I'm focusing on getting users and feedback!
