Launching a "Founder Mistakes" newsletter to openly talk about failure

That could be useful but I feel like you might need to boost the potential benefits a subscriber would get from it. There are many more ways to fail than to succeed, so it's usually simpler and easier to attract readers with success stories.

I think failory.com started with the premise of sharing insights from failure stories but today, the tagline on the homepage is "Interviews with Failed and Successful Startup Founders". Out of the 6 interviews featured on the homepage, 5 are success stories and only 1 is a failure story. It could be interesting to research on their experience to see what could be done differently?

You might be a bit late to the party but that needs to be seen. Some years ago there was a time talking about failure is trendy. It came to a point, it felt like almost every failed (no runway left) founder was writing about their experience. HN's front page was full of these posts. The "fuck up meetings/nights" started around the time. It was "failure porn" galore.

It was a cultural moment that failing a start up didn't mean failing, really. The capital was abundant. Markets were in a net growth phase.

Whereas now, it is harder. Markets are harsh. Capital tightened. Failing a startup now probably means much harder options for raising capital for the next one. People are gloomy about the future.

So it is not exactly a great time for the very thing you are looking to build. When you try to ship this, it will feel going against the current, I think. It won't be smooth sailing.

That said, I am sure failure porn will return. Not now. Probably not in the next few years. But when the weather is shining and market is growing and capital is cheaper, there will again be a right time for it.
