Hi all,
I'm testing out a new product (of sorts) — a newsletter highlighting design emerging in a global context, and opportunities for designers to get involved in global affairs.
It's called Diverge Weekly.
I'm mostly a product manager these days, but spent most of my career in interaction design and design research. I'm currently doing a masters in international security studies though, I saw an opportunity to bring these passions together.
My thesis is that great design doesn’t only come from those trained in design practice (though it certainly helps): rather it can also emerge naturally where a person centredness, systems thinking, and prototyping come together. That thesis informs a the curation of the content. I'm also trying to translate international jobs that might not say the word "Designer" in them, but would really benefit from hiring someone with a service design or design researcher background.
Here's a preview of the issue coming out on March 11th, would love to get feedback and thoughts on the content, and if you like it, of course please give it a subscribe.
