Launching a new bootstrapped Stripe manager: ProfitKit
Hey Indie Hackers,
Over the last 6 weeks I built https://www.profitkit.io with another developer.
We're both frequent Stripe users and think that though it's a great payment processor, there are a number of features people want that don't seem to come out of the box. So of course, we decided to bootstrap together a Stripe account manager and metrics app.
Our current feature list includes:
-A calendar view of subscription payments
-Metrics related to MRR and customer purchase times
-A mobile-responsive table to manage customers and subscriptions from your phone
A couple other features we're working on are:
-Code-free Auth0 integration with subscriptions
-Hosted checkout forms that can be used to sell Stripe products and subscriptions.
If that's seems like a broad feature list, that's because it is! We understand that there are a lot of directions we could take this and want to find out more about what features our potential users would enjoy before narrowing our focus.

Love the idea. What's your differentiator between yourself and Baremetrics or Profitwell?
Also, the loading was a bit of an issue for me as well. Those precious few seconds actually makes a big difference to your bounce rate!
Short-term advice: uglify + minify your webpack bundle :)
Longer-term:
You may want to consider making your marketing site and dashboard separate apps. Ideally you should render the marketing site on the server, which will help with your SEO and performance. Not sure what framework (if any) you're using, but if it's React, you can use something like Gatsby.js to get the benefits of server-side rendering + React. Traditional server-side templating works too!
We minified the bundle and cleared up some issues with our node modules that were causing the slow load. If you're still interested, I'd recommend taking another look! It should be a much better experience :)
Thanks for the advice!! We'll definitely look into minifying our bundle. This is a React app so we Gatsby might be useful as well.
We think the loading issues are caused by our bundle interacting poorly with certain browsers (it works fine on chrome for us but we get the same problem with Safari). We're doing some debugging with our webpack config and hope to have it fixed soon.
As far as differentiating between apps like Baremetrics and Profitwell, we offer features to actively manage your Stripe account on top of analytics (changing customer subscription trials, providing discounts, for example).
Though these are still in development, our hosted checkout pages and subscription integration with Auth0 are also features that help with Stripe integration that I don't think those two apps cover.
Our analytics also have a few unique aspects to them such as a calendar-view of active subscription revenue and a chart of customer purchases sorted by times of the day/week/month. If I'm wrong about this, please let me know but I haven't seen those elsewhere yet.

+1 for performance, I'm on Firefox on a laptop with a decent connection and it never loaded for me.
We've made some changes to reduce load times across the board and support different browsers, including Firefox. If you're still interested, please check it out and you should have a much better experience!
We're working on it, but if you'd like to try it out for now I'd suggest going with Chrome! We've had no issues there but we will support other browsers as well soon

The loading of the page is incredibly slow, and considering it is only a static landing page it is even more worrisome. From mobile I simply gave up.
We've made some changes to reduce load times improve mobile performance. If you're still interested, check it out and you should have a much better experience!
Got it - we're working on loading the app faster and found that for IOS especially we need to improve the way we're bundling. Would you mind letting me know if you were on an IOS or android device?
