Launching a service to deliver your newsletter to any channel (Messenger, Twitter, Telegram, etc)

Hello folks,

Long time IH lurker here. Decided to create a service for newsletter creators. My objective is to avoid email fatigue by delivering the newsletter through the channel the reader prefers.

Looking for feedback and beta testers, who's up? ( https://reachme.fyi/ )

I would consider this if it delivers to other channels IN ADDITION to email.

I've been burned enough times by things like platforms limiting my reach (Chrome Web Notifications have undergone some significant changes, for example).

It would be nice if, for example, on the "Thank you" page and/or at the end of every email I sent there was such an option ("reach me via X, Y, Z).

That's exactly our plan. We want to complement email. Not to be yet another gatekeeper.

So if they ever unsubscribe from the email, you chose if you want them to keep receiving your issues on the other channels, but never the contrary.

        Thanks, just signed up :)

How does Reachme work? If it subscribes a reader through an email address other than the reader's own address, I'm not the greatest enthusiast.

It's a fair point. Our idea is not to substitute the email medium but to complement it. We want creators to keep the ownership of their user base. We give you a questionnaire you can attach to your newsletters, where your readers can set their preferences of additional channels. Then, we reach them on their other channels.

If they ever unsubscribe from the email, you chose if you want them to keep receiving your issues on the other channels, but never the contrary.

Apologies but I still don't understand whether the readers subscribe to a newsletter with their own address or an address Reachme generates or controls.

My bad, I wasn't clear enough. This is a service you offer to your existing readers and your newcomers.

The objective is to send them your newsletter not only by email, where they already have 10s of others, but to the channel they want to receive it. We can either send them the newsletter publication link or just the well formatted email in html.

Why would you pay for this? To keep remembering readers you exist in the channel they are most present.

Thanks but I'm still missing some key points, sorry.

How does Reachme know a new issue of a newsletter is out so that it can deliver it to or notify the user on other platforms? Does Reachme subscribe to the newsletter with a Reachme-controlled email address? Does Reachme allow readers to get the newsletter only on other channels without subscribing with their own personal email?

            1. 1

On the contrary, thanks for pointing out possible pain points.

We know an issue is out because we subscribe with our own address and monitor it. Or if you prefer you can paste your newsletter publication url (like substack and others have) and we push that to your users.
Reachme works through the creator, we are just a tool, not a platform. It is you who sends our form to your readers, and they opt-in to receive the content also in other channels.

Thanks. But I don't like the way your tool captures the relationship between a newsletter and its readers.

Hey! Sorry for the late reply, I didn't see this comment before. That's exactly right, we don't allow readers to skip receiving issues by mail. We don't want to destroy one of the last mediums non-dependants on a platform, but just to empower it.

                  2. 1

What I think I understand is Reachme lets readers skip subscribing to a newsletter themselves altogether, skip receiving news issues by email, and receive new issues on other channels. Which is what I don't like as it captures the relationship between publishers and readers.

I agree on some of your points, it's great to have your point of view.

They will still receive the email in the inbox. Think of Reachme as a reminder with a call to action to open and read it now, not just "later". Sometimes later can become never, at least in my personal case.
