Launching Barakah, an Islamic app I built after reverting

Hey Indie Hackers,

I reverted to Islam a few years ago. The first month I kept downloading Muslim apps and uninstalling them. Every single one ran ads next to the Quran, paywalled basic guidance, or pushed one madhab's view as the only correct one.

I am a software engineer in Dubai so I eventually stopped complaining and started building. Barakah went live this year.

What it does:

• Prayer times for 250+ cities with multiple calculation methods

• Qibla compass

• 30-day path for new Muslims, one short lesson per day, every claim sourced to Quran or graded hadith

• Halal barcode scanner that explains E-numbers

• Zakat calculator with hawl tracking and scholar rulings

• Full dua collections, 99 Names of Allah, daily verse and hadith

• No ads, no tracking, no selling prayer logs

Stack: Next.js 16, Expo SDK 54, Supabase, RevenueCat, Resend. Solo build.

Premium tier at $3.99/mo or $29.99/year (Family Pack covers 4). 10 percent of every subscription goes to verified masjids and the needy.

Currently focused on SEO and AI visibility because the Muslim app category is dominated by Muslim Pro and the others, but none of them have a 30-day new Muslim path or the kind of sourcing transparency Barakah ships with.

Launching on Product Hunt next Tuesday June 2. Would love feedback from this community before then.
